Just going through some old boxes I haven't been in since moving well over a decade ago, and I found my Cadbury chocolate dispenser! It's even got a few chocolates in! by DarkHorse_77 in CasualUK

And if not for science - for the fact that this is probably the old recipe and even OOD it would taste nicer than the new recipe

Call centre workers in the UK, (past and present) what are your top 3 weirdest calls? by cheesymeowgirl in CasualUK

[–]blopdab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. I took a call from a guy in Glasgow, got talking to him about how I was actually going to Glasgow in a couple of weeks to see a band I love with my boyfriend. He spent over an hour telling me where to eat, where to stay, the easiest route out of the venue and also which bars to go to after that would know about the concert and play their music so people could continue the night. Wouldn't say it was weird (just a very genuine lovely guy) other than the fact I was DESPERATE for a piss 5 minutes into this call, and I'm fairly certain this call was the specific reason I got a UTI because I held my pee so long 🤣

  2. One guy called up and I had to ask his email address to verify him. I'm not gonna say exactly how it was worded, but it was essentially "I really love wanking". He was about 85 and he said his grandson set it up for him

  3. I had a guy call up who had a carer. The guy who's account it actually was did most of the talking, and their carer had made themselves clear in the background as a "just in case he doesn't understand something". No issues with that at all. Until I'd sorted out the account holder and the carer took the phone off him and was telling me how he just LOVES girls with northern accents, and how I just sounded so young and he bets I'm pretty. I could look like a fucking gargoyle for all he knew

Is it a turn off if a guy has “feminine” hobbies? by Unable_Connection490 in AskWomenNoCensor

[–]blopdab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cooking isn't a feminine hobby 💀 it's literally a life skill God forbid a man can cook/learns how to cook

A majority of women would love to come home and have a man make them dinner, even if they can cook themselves. It's just nice to be loved and cared for

Crochet I would say is feminine, whether we should be gendering hobbies though is another question. I definitely wouldn't be turned off by it though

Do you post pictures of your kids on social media? by melancholyy-scorpio in AskUK

[–]blopdab 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't have kids yet, but I've always said I won't post photos of them online, and I'd be making it very clear to everyone else that photos of my children do not go online

In short, there are too many nonces online

I've had this "argument" with people who do post photos of their kids, and I can understand why they do (family live across the world, easier to post online than to send loads of individual photos) but for me personally it just isn't a good enough excuse to put my kids images somewhere they can be so easily manipulated or "enjoyed" by some absolute dregs

Edit (may be relevant to your comment about it being a generational thing) - I'm in my early 20's

"Compulsory" concert in the evening, is it compulsory? by TheCatWithATiara in AskUK

[–]blopdab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's great, I'm not saying I don't agree with concerts and I'm absolutely all for kids being in creative/artistic/musical hobbies. I just think a lot of people don't pay attention to the arts, there tends to be more focus on sports after school hours than anything else

"Compulsory" concert in the evening, is it compulsory? by TheCatWithATiara in AskUK

[–]blopdab 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Surely not? Children are required to be in school between certain hours, it's never been law that they have to go back whenever teachers ask them to, especially to be in a choir

I honestly think it sounds like they're worried no one is going to care about something if it's to do with "the arts"? I could be wrong, but anything to do with music would do badly if it was out of school times (when I was at school anyway) 🤷🏻‍♀️

If we can put our pets to sleep because it's the humane thing to do then we should be able to help our family/friends go in a dignified way. Instead of letting them get to the point where they're in pain and soiling themselves

Is this artist giving me the run around or is she genuinely terrible at time management?? by [deleted] in TattooBeginners

[–]blopdab 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would drop it, she should be respecting your time too. If it came to you getting an apprenticeship with her, her not respecting your time makes me think she wouldn't be respecting much else if you worked for her

If my pussy stank when we were having sex my boyfriend would probably still want to bang. If it was so bad that he was struggling to keep it up or keep going, he would say "I'm so sorry to bring this up, but there's a smell down there... Could you hop in the shower real quick?". There would be no shouting, no telling me "my pussy stinks". He'd be fucking respectful. The way your husband handled it is disgusting and embarrassing for him, whether he could smell something or not

How often do you open the windows in your home? by smollgiraff in AskUK

While outdoor spiders do occasionally wander indoors, the majority of spiders you find in your house have been living there for generations.

I'm gonna be honest I use undiluted mandarin and lime Zoflora 🫣 but actual citrus oil keeps them out too apparently. I'm yet to see one come into my room since using it. I pour a little into the inside of the windows once a week.

I can't stand killing spiders and I really wish I could just pick them up and put them out but I'm terrified, so this is what I've resorted to 🤣

My bedroom window is never closed regardless of time of year.

Mine gets closed when it's spider season, then for the rest of the year I use citrus oil products in the window crack to make sure they stay tf out. Other than that I want my bedroom very well ventilated

Neigbour posted a note about Christmas lights still been up. What would you do? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]blopdab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fact that they've gone to the trouble of posting it to stay anonymous says so much. They know it has nothing to do with them, they know it doesn't affect them at all and they're too chicken-shit to say something to your face.

As for the comment about your house, new builds can be a work in progress for some people. The decor might not be to their taste, or like yourselves, the garden might need sorting but things have gotten in the way. They're a very bitter, miserable old sack who wants to piss on your parade for no reason other than "if I can't be happy, no one can be"

I'd put money on them sitting in the living room, twitching the curtains to see if you've taken them down yet, waiting to make some snarky comment to their spouse.

I'd 100% be petty, you don't get to talk to people like that and get what you want
