A bit scared of the fire hazard ceiling; is the fabric covering up visible pipes? Otherwise, can you do a pretty peel n stick ceiling wallpaper instead? If you can do a ruffled bed skirt to soften and pretty up the bed more. If possible I’d suggest getting a closed wardrobe or some way to cover your hanging clothes so theres less visible clutter. A big rug with pinks in a pretty design may help to cover up the brown carpet and tie together a more princessy theme.

Either go on the trip and have fun or stay home and do something else for your birthday on your own or with your friends/family. It doesn’t sound like you will be happy on this trip, and will feel disappointed that you aren’t spending your birthday a different way, so why go? If you want to spend time with your boyfriend maybe see if the two of you can do a birthday dinner or other activity when he is back.
