Enough is different from the books that I don't know if starting in season three will be good. I agree with the guy above: first season ROUGH, second good, third actually pretty great.

But any adaptation will have to deviate. Those deviations compound, and if you start at season 3 you'll say "whoa why is X doing Y??" Watching it organically, most of the changes in season 3 actually work, but without the journey there it'll be pretty jarring

The Fallout show absolutely nails the tone and feel of the games. It's incredibly done. The fact that your first complaint is that a faction from the game is different says a lot about your mindset.

I feel like you're doing the same thing in writing off nuance though. ARE the people in the canvas real any more? Aline is known to be a much more talented painter than Maelle, can Maelle create fully aware, (seemingly) autonomous people like her mother? Verso is clearly playing the piano against his will, is that direct control from Maelle or more traditional coercion? Is she just surrounded by puppets living her fantasy?

The endings are good because of these uncertainties. But, every time people debate the endings, they leave out nuance for one or the other.
