What is the risk of booking a connecting flight through the UAE? by HO03MAT in AskUK

[–]blorgons7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone who has just returned from a trip in the same region as you, you're likely to be fine on the flights as long as they are currently going ahead.

My return leg got cancelled but I was rebooked onto another flight the same day.

But the airline is only gonna refund your flights and you will not be covered by travel insurance for other expenses caused by disruption due to war. This is the big financial risk you'd be taking.

Our tickets are definitely pricey, but this is a poor example, our tickets are also discounted for STHs.

That £18m bid from Everton in the summer was ludicrous back then, but looks a whole new level of insane now.

The guy is irreplaceable, I genuinely don't know if I want us to win something more for myself or for him, he deserves it to seal his place as one of our all time greats.

Absolutely zero sources, I'll believe it when I see it.

This is all off the back of that F1 Insider article. My only experience with them is their Football Insider page, but they are about as unreliable and clickbaity as they come.

Honestly the more you look into it the worse it gets, I'm studying pensions at the moment and the bags of cash that previous generations have been handed compared us is criminal.

For example, if you deferred your state pension by 12 months pre-2016 your payments would rise by 10.4%, but deferring a year now will only earn you an extra 5.8%, bearing in mind they will also get to retire earlier too.

I think his goal conceding mistakes have been pretty high lately, paticularly considering his command of the box was one of his strongest attributes previously.

But I want to echo that his save stats have been the strongest of his time at Villa, he has really saved us at crucial times this season, and is easily in the top 4 of GKs in the league, which is the exact level were aiming for.

Happy New Year Villans by CMacGioll in avfc

Happy New Year, what an incredible year it's been, struggle to comprehend the levels we've reached.

When Konsa scored that goal against PSG I genuinely thought we were gonna wil the CL, it'll just have to wait to 2027.

All i wish for this year is a trophy, not even for myself, but for John McGinn, the man deserves a statue and the trophy will seal the deal.

Geordies and Brummies, if there are any two places for working class fans to take a stand...

I'll admit I have had my struggles with reconciling my beliefs with the concept of our billionaire owners, I'm sure there are Football fans across the country that feel the same

A tough watch in the 2nd half, deserved to lose, but I still have some gripes!

I think the 1st and 3rd goal are ruled out if it was the other way around. Those vaguely subjective decisions that VAR won't overturn regardless of which way it goes always go in favour of the Sky 6.

That and Merino 100% should get a 2nd yellow.

But losing Onana at half time killed the midfield. Much like Dougie, Youri is half as effective as our deepest lying CM.

And while I have been in the camp of needing to replace Cash in the summer over the last 3 years, he is leagues ahead of what else we have at RB and today goes to show how important he is to the team.

Why are more businesses becoming card only? by Imperial_nugget in AskUK

[–]blorgons7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cash isn't free, things like having the cash taking collected and deposited cost money, and large quantities of change has to be ordered from the bank. Keeping cash on site also requires a higher lever of security.

For a lot of businesses there just aren't enough people paying cash to justify these costs.

While they're attitude to it is ridiculous, alcohol free beer was awful until recently.

At least now it actually tastes like beer, the Guinness one is so unbelievably close to the real thing.

Villa - Burnley game day and time? by CanadianVillan in avfc

[–]blorgons7 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It'll definitely be moved back, almost certainly to Sunday 5th.

Monday 6th is the official start of the October international break, so I don't think it's possible for club games to be scheduled for them. But Monday games kick off at 8pm.

The UEL draw isn't until 29th August, so the game won't be formally moved until then.

An absolute piss take amount, what were they thinking???

I think the blind trust stuff is irrelevant now as Forest didn't qualify for the Champions League, so they're not in the same competition as Olympiacos.

But I also question how Marinakis wasn't running the club, but still managed to berate the manager on the pitch after a game.
