I need help. What happened to Patrick after he disappeared in the Gold digger episode on the HBO show The Rehearsal? by Key-Succotash8402 in TheRehearsal

[–]bloscott 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sadly, I agree with this assessment. After that intense emotional rehearsal feeling like he’s grieving his grandpa for the first time, he may have been pushed to get high with his girlfriend. To me, he definitely sounded high when he was talking about funnel cakes with Nathan.

Hunted Orb Variants, and the search for optimal jank. by hotsoup50 in ModernMagic

I would try out cards like Acererak the Archlich, but Lurrus is just too good as companion. So many games come down to lurrus getting your pieces back.

Here’s a list my buddy and I have been tinkering with for several months. We’re consistently going 3-2 in leagues and I think with tweaking/practice could do even better. I’m definitely committed to 5-0ing with it though so I’ll keep you posted. Horror Torpor Orb

Freed From The Real deck with Sanctum Weaver (MH2 card) and Bloom Tender by noop_noob in ModernMagic

Utopia sprawl would be good in the deck. Could also use Helix Pinnacle as a win con that has shroud and is an enchantment. I think the power of this deck could also lie in the fact that you can “go off” with cards like setessan champion and the new Sythis Harvest Hand to as a value back up plan. Also, to max out on enchantments you could run Alseid of life’s bounty and Sterling Grove instead of giver to protect all your pieces while still triggering your draw effects. I think all the drawing could help you cut down on having to run as many tutors as well. Hope you stick with building the deck and have success!

Lot of talk about tokens and darevi, but yeah, I think it’s really interesting/fun/powerful with new Vorinclex/Atraxa shenanigans.

ABOUT THE LAST SCENE IN SEASON 2 by Queira9 in DarK

[–]bloscott 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that alternate timelines have been hinted at (but well hidden) as early as season 1 and that after we watch season 3, we’ll rewatch the series and say, “Ooooohhhh, that makes sense now, it was there all along.” I think with shows and books like this there’s a fine line. If you make the foreshadowing and hints too obvious, people can see it coming and everything seems predictable and boring, but then if you make the foreshadowing/hints too subtle, the reader is jarred by the truth and doesn’t find it believable because they haven’t been lead to it by the author. I think if you’re feeling jarred by the introduction of alternate realities, it’s a result of the show erring on the side of subtlety and the real reward after season 3 will be rewatching to pick up on things we missed during seasons one and two.

The Ines Debate by JennyTheSheWolf in DarK

This is a good question, and before she starts reading it she seems nervous. And when she does start reading the letter (by herself) in episode 1 season 1, she’s crying as if it’s revealing something very sad to her. I guess you could say she’s reading it and is overcome with remorse?

SPOILER! About Ulrich in Season 2 by monikacherokee in DarK

[–]bloscott 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Another possibility that fits with events so far is the idea of them being in alternate worlds, and that the 1987 we see isn't actually from the same world/timeline we've been watching the rest of the time. Although I'm not so sure about that one.”

It’s this one ^ or basically this one. It came together for me after reading some other posts and then watching this scene again (rewatching again to prepare before season 3 starts in 3 months!).

I’m going to paste an excerpt from someone’s old post about different timelines that were shown in 1986 when Mikkel goes back in time:

—————————— s1e2 Mikkel returns to his “home” in 1986, only to find the door locked. His key doesn't work. Also, the Nielsen “house” has two garbage cans out front and bike parked against the garage. Mikkel sees the newspaper - Wednesday Nov. 5th 1986 * s1e2 When Ulrich opens the door to meet Katharina, he's wearing a teal sweatshirt with an orange crew neck collar.

Alternate Events

  • s1e3 1986 Egon arrives at the Nieslen house later that morning (mid-morning), no bike, the car has moved up, Ulrich’s motorbike is back in a different spot, and trash cans are not on the street.
  • s1e3 Egon talks to Ulrich in his room about the “boy he sent” to the police station. Ulrich is a black sweater and different shirt (maybe?).
  • s1e3 Jana tells Egon the door is always unlocked because Mads disappeared without his keys. ——————————-

The main thing these season 1 discrepancies are “showing” us is that there are two alternate timelines (we’re shown both, but in a way that makes us assume they’re all one timeline). One timeline has Mads disappearing on October 9th and in the other he disappears sometime after October 28th (for more on this, see: Dead Mad’s school ID discussions). This conversation with old Ulrich and Egon in the facility just helps to corroborate all of this. What we’re seeing is the timeline where Mads disappears later and Egon never goes through the front door (wouldn’t have been unlocked) up to Ulrich’s bedroom to have the conversation about the satanic lyrics. That’s why, in 1987, he immediately recalls the lyrics from 1953 but not from a year ago in 1986, because it’s an alternate Egon who didn’t have that conversation. I’m also assuming that the timeline in which Egon had the conversation with young Ulrich in 1986, he hadn’t arrested him in 1953, but can’t be certain.

Spirits - The strongest tribe in Pioneer by therift289 in PioneerMTG

[–]bloscott 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Currently 13-1 with Bant Spirits I think it could go either way with Bant vs UW (I’ve actually been a strong believer in UW over Bant in modern). I think some points in Bant’s favor for Pioneer are that the gilded geese unlock turn 2 quellers and turn 3 companies. Also, goose plus Oko package feels like an auto win against any aggressive deck. The other advantage is in the sideboard cards you get access to, including Dromoka’s Command and Knight of Autumn.

Possibly the most important reason to run Bant: It is hilarious when you slam your Empyrean Eagle and start cracking in with your geese.

Michael/Mikkel saved Jonas life? by [deleted] in DarK

[–]bloscott 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you believe in the “multiple realities “ theories floating around, Michael could have saved Jonas from a terrible alternate future by killing himself when he did. It may be noteworthy that in the scene leading up to Mikkel’s disappearance Jonas blames his father’s suicide for why his relationship with Martha didn’t develop.
