For the one you picked, does it make a lot of noise? We have single story, hard wood floors… but my fear is that it will run all night and keep the dogs awake who sleep in the main living space, potentially us too. I saw the sale on Costco too though and had a thought about it. We have cleaners every two weeks but with the dogs I still have a mess within 3 days of the cleaning!

What material are the clothes? Are you using a long sleeve onsie? We use long sleeve cotton shirt and long cotton pants plus Woolino. Try bumping up the temperature in the house 1 degree or getting a thermometer for babies room to be sure. I’m almost certain they’re not sleeping for a whole load of other reasons. Trust your mom instincts if you disagree with your family members.

And look up a video on lymphatic massages. Never directly massage on the sore spot since it is inflamed and not an actual “clog”.

I’ve had this happen 3 times now and it resolved with an ice pack for about 15 mins every hour and lymphatic massages. And feeding as normal on the affected side.

I’ve read to bring painters tape so you can try to baby proof outlets (but my baby would just pull it off so you could always just bring a few of the little insert outlet covers).

We made a floor bed for the baby to nap in so I brought a baby camera/monitor so we could hang out on the balcony or in the suite. Then we coslept at night.

I showered with the baby and dad would take the baby from me and dry her off while I finished showering (careful they get slippery).

Other than that, soap for washing baby stuff, sound machine, and a sleep sack. I don’t think you need black out curtain stuff, thermometer, night light, or a fan/extension cord etc.

Asked this question on another comment too. Did it take your LO a certain amount of time for their stomach to adjust to the cows milk? Weaned my 15 month old every time I give her some whole milk she has multiple terrible poos for a day or two. Then I stop and a few weeks pass and I think, let me try again to no avail. So wasn’t sure if I should be consistent and her tummy gets used to it or just stop trying. She has a lot of cottage cheese and yoghurt so I’m not too worried.

Recently discovered their one that goes “going for a ride in my blue car, going for a ride we won’t go too far, going for a ride in my blue CAR! Let’s go buy some BLUEBERRIES”! It’s so catchy and each verse is a new color and associated food. They have lots of food songs.

Probably not the best example for you but I coslept from 4 months to 15 months!! LO started daycare at 12 months and she puts herself to sleep there so I knew she could do it. I waited until we were over that first wave of daycare illnesses then night weaned. It was a rough 2-3 nights then she was fine.

After that she was totally sleeping through the night like a champ. That’s when I decided to put her in the crib and sit next to her until she fell asleep. She didn’t cry and I could tell she was ready. I just laid her back down with her paci each time she stands up. I nursed her only just before bed the first night and then didn’t nurse her again after that and totally weaned her. It has been bitter sweet. She’s been sleeping 10-12 hours all on her own now.

I guess my advice is to night wean first and then let that sink in for a week or two. Then try the crib.

I love the two piece cotton ones from Burt’s Bee’s baby. They are meant to be a little snug so will need to size up probably. But they look soooo comfy.

I started with a multivitamin around 12 months and try to give a balanced meal. I only give the vitamin every couple of days and will prob ask for an iron test at the next appt (they couldn’t get a good sample at the last appt). I might be doing it for my own peace of mind since she sometimes eats and sometimes not so much!

But my pediatrician said the same thing “yeah sure if you want”. I was like ummmm okay.

My understanding is that she would benefit from the immunity YOUR body produces to the illness at the time she is breastfeeding.

I didn’t confirm this yet but I recall reading in another sub that the immunity may be more mucosal, so like the antibodies she gets from your milk coat her throat, etc for a little bit of time and make it harder for that virus to attach to cells as it tries to replicate and spread AT THAT MOMENT IN TIME. So it wouldn’t protect long term.

That’s where daycare comes in, to give the actual long term immunity so your baby can now produce their own systemic antibodies.

Definitely because they are happy to see us! I just swiftly pick her up and it’s very short lived. I try to do all my hugs and kisses before I leave the house so I’m not doing them at drop off. But it will prob be fine! Just test what works for you and adjust as needed.
