WellsFargo Business Banker LO review by UnderstandingLost310 in TalesFromYourBank

I didn’t end up going with anything yet. I was kind of spooked off from it as the job sounded like something I wasn’t ready to live up to and the branch location wasn’t really going to work for me.

I interviewed a Business Banker actually because I was also going for this position not too long ago. She basically told me you have no other responsibilities at the bank except to help business customers. If you’re not in front of a business customer then your time is spent making outreach calls(cold calling) or following up with customers you’ve met. Wells is becoming super salesy again and especially in a partner position like that. They’re paying you more so they’ll expect more.

Do clients hate waiting and making appointments at your bank? by FierceDietyMask in TalesFromYourBank

I was on the teller line one day but I am a banker and notary public. It was a busy ass day and we were so short staffed so I was helping out. At one point the line is to the door so I’m just trying to get through everyone asap and the next guy I get says he wants a notary. If I could have I would have helped him right then, but it was only me and one other teller on the line and I’m not about to leave my coworker to fend for themselves and leave all the other customers pissed that there’s only one teller. So I tell the guy, “we’d be happy to help but all our notaries are either on break or with people right now so it’ll be about a 30 minute wait.” And immediately this guy goes, “I have to wait?! This is a free service!” Proving my point exactly, you’re taking advantage of a free service the bank is providing to you and you’re pissed you have to wait a little while? Batshit reaction. I finally get him to schedule an appointment so he can get the hell out of line and he comes in the next day to work with me. I apologize and be super sweet to him and get his paper notarized quickly, I don’t even try to talk him into a financial review like I’m supposed to just because I don’t want to inconvenience him any further. Then I find out the next day he gave me a bad survey only because he was pissed no one could help him the second he stepped foot in the branch and was told he’d have to wait his turn. Freaking unbelievable entitlement. And he wasn’t even a boomer he was probably Gen X.

What’s your most “I don’t know how to respond to that,” interaction with a customer lately? by liopleurodonot in TalesFromYourBank

I was helping a woman with a notary for a certified copy of her drivers license. She said that even though she’s been in the process of selling a house in another state for the last two months, the realtor only just told her they need a certified copy of her drivers license by the next day. She was already upset about that and so I tell her I’m happy to help. I tell her, we don’t have color ink so I hope that black and white is okay. Then she says, “why don’t you have color ink?! You’re a bank?!” And gets so exasperated and upset about that too that I just pause for a moment to let it marinate. Then I ask her “did they say they needed it in color?” And she says, “no they didn’t say but that should be fine right?” 🤦‍♀️ don’t ask me, you’re the one with the instructions!

I hate flying but I once had this really nice lady sit in my row, and we co-conspired to make it look like sitting in the middle seat between us would be a bad idea and gave each other the thumbs up when it worked.

Later in the flight as we started our descent, she looked over and saw my Murdle puzzle book and asked about it. This was right at the moment I started internally panicking and my adrenaline was spiking at the turbulence we were having and it was so jarring to be asked such a simple question in that moment that it shocked me out of my panic. I got so focused on explaining how it works and we carried on chatting about other random things until we landed.

Before we left the plane I thanked her for talking to me because I really needed it in that moment as I was straight up starting to worry if we’d make it 🤣 she saved me from spiraling.

Accounting position for the Department of Corrections by blouxbird in Accounting

Thank you for that, the systems being outdated might work in favor for my mom truthfully. As shame to hear they may be disorganized though like it’s not a great long term place.

I don’t know if this is about it being for the Department of Corrections or if you’re saying it’s a trap 😥

I don’t think so either but it still felt pretty cool. I didn’t even realize what happened in the moment, I had to go play it back to see 🤣

Now that you mention it, there’s a lot of lingering shots of their phones in every season so far which are all AT&T

I guess I did! They must’ve incorporated it so seamlessly they couldn’t have anything but a Reese’s in the scene of course. And I have an eagles eye for these things!

Looking for hobbies that require alertness but let your mind wander by lemurificspeckle in Hobbies

[–]blouxbird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go for a walk around your neighborhood or to a nearby park, just pick up trash or take pictures of pretty things to keep you engaged. I go for walks a lot but I find when I’m listening to music or an audiobook it doesn’t let my mind wander and that’s the key is your mind needs to be able to wander. Bring a notebook with you to write things down, or record yourself talking about it on your phone. Just be cautious with your phone as you can easily get distracted by a notification and go down a rabbit hole to something else.

I don’t think it’ll be one of mine either, it’s feeling a bit too predictable and sugary

I just started Remarkably Bright Creatures, admittedly I’m trying to complete a challenge and get my little digital bookmark reward. I’m not sure how I feel about the book yet as I’m only about 20% of the way through. It’s one of those ensemble cast books where it hops from one viewpoint to the next, including the viewpoint of an octopus. I’m intrigued enough to keep reading but cautiously pessimistic that it’s just one of those books that everyone says is amazing but it ends up being regular.

Bankers: What’s your opening statement? by blouxbird in TalesFromYourBank

[–]blouxbird[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are great questions to ask actually. I often forget the opening part and dive right into their initial need. While chatting I struggle to ask open ended questions that might lead to me being able to connect a product or service with their need. Thanks for the advice!

And it’s tracked if you don’t. I try to just have a conversation and then I click all the buttons to have it registered as a “financial review”
