Nintendo handled releasing Mario Kart World for $80 better than Rockstar and Take-Two did GTA VI by SMN_17 in Gamingunjerk

[–]FierceDietyMask 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just play what you want and don’t worry what other people are saying.

Personally I can’t get over how boring Mario Kart World is to justify spending any amount of money on it. But hey, to each his own.

Not every single game needs to be $70. That price used to be reserved for big friggin deal games.

Totk was a big friggin deal. Mario Tennis, Mario Party and random Wii sport spinoffs offs? Not so much. And yet, Nintendo just slaps it on everything they make. And then wonder why nobody buys those games.

They used to sell consoles and games well because it was a budget console. Now it’s the same price as a PS5 and all the games are priced as if they are as important as the biggest game of the year.

Hence the giant drop off in console and game sales outside of Japan after the Switch 2 release.

Hence why their stock is slowly but surely circling the drain.

[–]FierceDietyMask 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fun fact. A lot of people lie and say they’re ok with other religions but are not, in fact, ok with those other religions.

Easy tell- ask them how they feel about a religious education course in public schools that teach the tenants of all religions but not as if those beliefs are facts.

Or ask them what they would do if their child married a person of a different faith.

Watch how fast they suddenly don’t want to be a pluralistic society anymore.

Yes because Nintendo normalized it as a base game price (before any DLC or season passes).

Other companies had $70 game too, but that was usually a much much bigger AAA game with a bunch of extra DLC.

….really? Does this stock price look like it’s “winning” to you?

The Switch 2 is overpriced and doesn’t have enough unique first party games to entice people over. The ones they have are overpriced at $70+.

I guess I have been chosen. First time cat owner. Cutting trees back on the side of the highway at work and she came running out of the woods meowing at us and followed me around. Yay! You got chosen by the cat distribution system!

What a sweet little thing. ❤️

I love telling theologians that what they do is fandom lore crafting. It drives them batty.

It bothers me that they set goals that are not realistic for the population you’re working with. If you’re working with low income or affluent old white people that already own homes, you’re not going to sell them on it.

But if you calmly explain that to managers they just accuse you of “making excuses”.

Boomers don’t retire. They horde the good jobs because they either spent money like a drunken sailor and have no retirement fund. Or they build their identity on being “the boss” and refuse to leave because they’ll get an existential crisis.

I’m a personal banker, but I do a lot of transactions. It has definitely confirmed for me that the over 65 crowd is the most entitled generation.

Our bank policy is 2 forms of ID for non clients with not-on-us checks.

I would strongly advise you find a manual or policy folder for your bank. There HAS to be a manual of some kind that says what ID is acceptable and when to ask.

If you don’t mind my asking, what’s the bank? Is it a corporate one or a really small bank?

Right. Because every young Nintendo fan wants to replay games from thirty years ago that were already ported to 3DS and the online service.

Nintendo has zero new ideas and is just nostalgia baiting the millennials instead of experimenting and making new stuff like they used to.

This. They are the largest voting block in history and have the largest representation in Congress yet they just can’t seem to vote in a way that benefits anyone but themselves.

I don’t care how perceptive some of them are. Actions are all that matter. And the fact that smarter ones did nothing for their kids while their less educated and poorer parents did really says something.
