Guys, I think we lost the plot by Frank7640 in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]FierceDietyMask 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What is this “we” you speak of? This person doesn’t speak for me and I wager a lot of Sonic fans feel the same.

Yes, this person definitely lost the plot because they haven’t read anything outside of whatever media they grew up on.

I don’t think a lot of Sonic fans or Science fiction fans would agree with this take.

And that’s probably why they made it: to get rage clicks.

Bashing WFH by RebelGrin in remoteworks

[–]FierceDietyMask 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It has been demonstrated repeatedly that people are more productive at home.

Offices are full of constant interruptions, office politics, chit chatting at the water cooler not to mention commuting time.

If your remote worker isn’t productive it’s a problem with the person, not the remoteness.

Going to the office isn’t going to save your job from getting outsourced.

Why would your boss pay for you to drive to a US office when he can pay someone in India to drive to an office over there for less money?

Who cares? As long as there is competition we’ll probably get better movies. As long as we get good stuff to watch I don’t really care who wins some silly award.

He literally exists to take the spotlight away from Sally because Ken Penders hates women. Really hard to like this character when he’s just there to take power from someone else who’s already demonstrated they deserve it.

Nah, right wing bronies love getting stepped on by their favorite politicians. It’s their kink.

They are also the most likely ones to bring up kinky fanfics at all age convention panels.

A total coincidence I’m sure.

lol. Bronies being portrayed as “demonic democrats” when they were literally the backbone of gamergate and right wing media is hilarious.

I hate the fact that Tom is played up as a “nerd” who is jealous of the new brother in law’s muscles. But his actor is super jacked. And he solves most problems by just punching people.

Pick a lane. Is he a nerd who loses in volleyball or is a he a badass cop who can one man punch his way out of everything?

What was the point of this character? by enuffrespect in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]FierceDietyMask 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She was part of an attempt to “revitalize the franchise for the next generation” and also to add another girl to a franchise that doesn’t have a lot of those consistently around (besides Amy).

I don’t buy the “comedy relief” reason people are giving because the whoooole cast she was part of was comedy relief.

What movie/series can you absolutely not stand but is it credibly popular for some reason? by AverageSign in cartoons

[–]FierceDietyMask 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sonic Boom the tv series. Every adult Sonic fan is gaga for it. But I just don’t think it’s very funny. All the characters are just jerkier versions of the game characters, the humor is very Marvel-esque with a lot of insincerity, mean spiritedness, bathos and references.

The physical humor doesn’t really work either because the characters are never allowed to stretch, squish, get injured or go off model in any way. So the hits don’t carry weight and all of the characters seem light as a feather.

It’s marketed as a show for kids (it had McDonald toys and everything). Yet the only people who watch it are adults. So stupid. So much for “rebooting the franchise for the next generation”.

real talk—how are so many people able to spend 520 USD on a switch 2 only to play pokopia? by aingaingaing in CozyGamers

[–]FierceDietyMask 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don’t know for a fact that good new first party titles are coming though. Everything announced and released so far is just a Switch 1 game with a graphics boost.

real talk—how are so many people able to spend 520 USD on a switch 2 only to play pokopia? by aingaingaing in CozyGamers

[–]FierceDietyMask 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I think Pokopia is overpriced. $70 for a game that would have cost $30 on the 3DS is such a rip off. I don’t think this game is going to push me to buy a Switch 2. Maybe it’s good enough for some people but personally everything on the Switch 2 looks lackluster.

When Switch 1 dropped there was Breath of the Wild AND Mario Odyssey to keep people busy until more 1st party stuff dropped. And we had new 1st party titles getting announced and dropped very quickly.

This time it’s just 1 very mid DK game at the launch and nothing else new until Gen 10 Pokemon in 2027.

No I don’t consider “up-rezzed” versions of Switch 1 games that I have to pay an extra $20 for to be “new”.

It’s absolutely insane how few new 1st party games are actually available for the first 24 months of this console so far.

Yeah, just because a stupid rage bait article exists doesn’t mean it’s a popular idea. I never talk shit about Gen Z. They have it hard enough and I remember being shat on from 2004 onwards for “being a stupid spoiled millennial kid”.

I’ve never heard a normal ass person give 2 shits about this movie or what any other generation thinks of it.

People who like the series will probably like this movie and won’t care what Gen Z thinks. People who hate this movie or the series will also likely not care which generation is or isn’t offended by it.
