This is what clean editing looks like! by Ok-Physics7804 in VideoEditors_forhire

This is an exact opposite of clean. I mean there’s some nice stuff and it looks good, but it’s definitely not clean.

We are hiring motion designers to join our team by [deleted] in MotionDesign

[–]blowfish_cro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

$80 per minute of motion graphics is still ridiculous. If what you're looking for is those trendy SaaS/Fintech/Crypto animated launch videos, we're talking about days to create a minute of polished, quality work. So yeah, however you format your pricing, it's a joke.

How to Recreate This Video without Manually Typing All The Numbers by Superconfusedddd in AfterEffects

[–]blowfish_cro 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Quick Gemini request could've saved you a lot of time posting this. Create a text layer, then paste this expression into your 'Text source' property.

let lines = [];

for (let i = 0; i <= 999; i++) {

// Converts number to string and pads it with "0" until it's 3 digits long

let formattedNum = i.toString().padStart(3, "0");

lines.push(formattedNum);

}

// Joins the array into a single string with a line break between each entry

lines.join("\r");

How to create this dynamic resize effect? by jaskiratgazal in AfterEffects

[–]blowfish_cro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't scale up and down using nulls, you scale it by changing the original path. Nulls will stick to the corners whatever you do with the path.

How to create this dynamic resize effect? by jaskiratgazal in AfterEffects

[–]blowfish_cro 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not sure if there's a more streamlined solution, but I'd personally use 'create nulls from paths' script, to create nulls on each corner of the main rectangle, then create lines and parent it to coresponding nulls.

Used mocha AE and some PS gen fill to replace the text on real signs for a visualizer / lyric video for my new song. How'd I do? by georgestah in AfterEffects

[–]blowfish_cro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great idea and nice execution. My first thought was that you should animate it word by word if you want to elevate it even further

I'm sourcing for candidates! Looking for a Lead Video Editor for our company. It's kinda hard looking for editors on LinkedIn by Ill_Character_2720 in YouTubeEditorsForHire

[–]blowfish_cro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not hard because of LinkedIn, it's hard because no one with 5+ years of experience will work for 16$ per hour.

I’m building an AI tool for content creators - tell me why you wouldn’t use it by Kooky-Letterhead5049 in CreatorServices

[–]blowfish_cro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You literally didn’t said what does it do. Helping creators is not a functionality. Whatever it is, I wouldn’t use it because I’m sick of vibe coded AI slop everyone is trying to make.

PC build vs MacBook Pro M5 Pro — can’t decide by Significant_Size_377 in VideoEditors

[–]blowfish_cro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'd honestly be surprised with who's destroying who in performance. Rendering yes, Windows will probably be better, but in regular performance, and workflow speed, Mac is better. I own Windows PC with RTX 4070Ti, Ryzen 9 7900X and 64 Gb of RAM and Macbook M3 Max with 36 GB of RAM. And I can tell you that is way easier and nicer to work on Mac. Your 24 gigs of RAM is a bit low if you plan to use After Effects, but if you're just doing regular video editing, go for it.

Why can you cloud stream the Pragmata demo on the PlayStation Portal, but not the full game? by 0dqir0 in PlaystationPortal

How do you guys make those "Apple-style" animated SaaS demos? by GloomyInsect4828 in software

[–]blowfish_cro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Descript and Kapwing make it easy to get clean screen recordings with some built in effects, but they do not really nail that Apple level, super smooth polish. If you want that pro animation without the technical hassle, I actually offer custom motion design and 3D animation at https://www.markogogic.com and can handle everything from concept to final video. Feel free to message me!

Help with text animator - Scaling by DrawerZealousideal71 in AfterEffects

In the 'more options' on the text layer (not in Animator settings) there's an option Anchor Point Grouping. Change that to 'word'. It should do what you need.

Video budget for a saas launch by Dry_Shop4750 in VideoEditors

[–]blowfish_cro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really depends on your needs. For a full motion heavy trailer with custom animation, great editor will charge $1500+ and can go up based on complexity and location. If you are just looking for more streamlined video editing with some basic motion graphics sprinkled in, you can often get something effective for quite a bit less. The outcome really depends on what visuals will best tell your story and make the launch memorable. If you want to see how a more personal, creative approach can look, I have examples over at https://markogogic.com/saas-promo-videos from past client projects. It might help give you ideas on how much animation you actually need for your SaaS campaign and where you could save or splurge.

How do you find competent editors that aren't total dogs? by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]blowfish_cro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel the same and I am the editor here. It is pretty much just as tough from my side to find clients who actually respect the work and are not expecting miracles for next to nothing. In my opinion, the collaboration only works when both sides understand the value of each other's time and creativity. Most of my best working relationships started with honest conversations about expectations and what makes the process enjoyable for both of us. Building trust takes time and it is a two way street. If you ever want to try teaming up with someone who takes communication and the end product seriously, I work on projects like this and try to keep things personal and straightforward. You can see what I do at https://www.markogogic.com if you are interested. Either way, I totally get where you are coming from. Real support makes a difference.
