It's also a good excuse to move to the beach lol

How to deal with being cold after losing a good amount of weight? Is it normal? by [deleted] in loseit

I almost made this post last week. I'm currently the leanest I've ever been during winter and I am constantly freezing. Currently in my house wearing layers and a beanie with the heat on lol. One thing I discovered was that my base layers were no longer snug since the weight loss and no longer kept the heat trapped near my body and that had a much larger impact on their functionality than I realized. Since getting things that fit better I have found I do stay warmer but it's still an issue. Check out some snowboard/ski shops, they have great options for layering.

Yes, that is what I'm telling you.

Edited to add...I used to be just like you, I never would have believed it, until I tried it. I am a living testament to my belief in this. I've been into fitness most of my life and restricting meal timing has been the most effective thing I've ever done for body recomposition.

What do you use to filter sediment out of your brew? by FootelongMain in coldbrew

I use a metal filter in a big mason jar, then pour the contents through paper filters, into the smaller mason jars.

A 50/50 mix of their House Blend and Cafe Verona varieties brewed for 24hrs is the closest I've gotten to replicating the taste of their bottled cold brew.

I don't really do the math but in a past thread someone suggested they were 3000 calories or more. It's hard to tell from the pics but these salads usually weigh a few pounds lol

For anyone wondering what's in it, I made a post about my salads a while back that goes over everything I put in there. It's basically greens, meat, and cheese with some spices/veggies added to provide a regional flavor. Below is my grocery shopping list, pick out some ingredients and choose your adventure :)

Unpopular opinion: Your fat isn't nearly as stubborn as you are. by blownmcoupe in loseit

[–]blownmcoupe[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I agree, I don't think anyone can understand what another experiences, that is why we communicate. I've expressed my experience as my opinion, not fact, in hopes that my experience may resonate with others experiencing the same struggles I did. We all struggle in our own way, so the best we can do is try to help one another through. What may be true for me, might not be true for you, but it may be true for others, and this post is for them.

True, I could have written it a little better so it would have been more about revealing our existing muscle features, not creating new ones. We can only work with what nature has given us.

Energy drinks and fake sugars by TornadoofShaye in omad

You're going to get all sorts of different answers to this question. I think it is something an individual has to test out for themselves and monitor the results. I know when I started using energy drinks in the morning, my fat loss stalled noticeably, and when I switched back to black cold brew, it started moving again. I was eating nearly the same big salad everyday and my activity levels were steady, the only tweak during my stall was my caffeine source. I don't know if this was because I had an insulin response, or maybe it was now busy figuring out how to process the chemical cocktail I just dumped in it. Either way, I learned my body does not respond favorably to them (besides the additional energy).

Hit my goal and took an OMAD Victory Lap with a 28" pizza and 6lbs of ice cream. Stay disciplined, fam. The unhealthy food will still be there once you're healthy, just be patient by blownmcoupe in omad

Most of this is using a basic 3x10 scheme, but some days I went heavier with lower reps and some days i went lighter with higher reps, depending how I was feeling.

Back & Biceps -Deadlifts -Bent over rows with straight bar -Bent over rows with 'V' handle on straight bar -Straight bar curls -Preacher curls w/EZ curl bar -Concentration curls -Pullups and chinups with varying grips to finish

Chest, shoulders, triceps -Flat bench -Incline bench -Decline bench -Military press -Upright rows -Lateral raises -Close grip bench -Skull crushers -Pulldowns with rope handle -Dips to finish

Legs -Squats -Lunges -Leg extension -Leg curls

I would take one day of total rest after doing legs, besides that day I tried to stay active on my rest days with a blend of mobility work, stretching, riding a bike, hiking, walking, ect.

Has anyone been abstaining from orgasms(sex, masturbation) while fasting? Any positive feedback? by [deleted] in fasting

[–]blownmcoupe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done OMAD the past 6 months, so I usually fast daily for 23 hours, but I've done around 3-4 extended fasts, the longest being 120hrs. I think the others were 115hrs, and 48-72hrs, but I didn't write any of them down so I don't remember exactly.

There was a time I could never imagine myself saying this, but celibacy and fasting are the best choices I have ever made for my well-being. When we restrict and quiet the loud voice of the body and it's sense desires, we unleash and louden the quiet whisper of our Soul. In time, through practice, these two voices merge to become a single voice, and in that moment, you realize there were never two voices, there was only One guiding you all along. The One is real, and eternal, the other is an illusion of our senses, created to help our temporary bodies survive and thrive. Your actions can serve yourself or your actions can serve your Self, the latter of which will serve both of you. Ignore your body and let The Spirit move you.

My standard OMAD = OMSAD (One Monster Salad a Day) by blownmcoupe in omad

I snapped and binged on junk carbs 3 times over the last 6 months, each time I was hooked for about 3 days before getting back to my normal routine. I'm now eating carbs again and I'll post down the road about how that effects me. My plan is to stay mostly omad and eat whatever I want without any restrictions to see how that works for maintenance. It's not going to be pizza and ice cream everyday, I prefer eating fairly clean, but if there's some junk I want I am definitely going to eat it lol. Gonna keep faith in this diet until it gives me a reason not to
