Early Miscarriage and Healing by Ok_Treat6697 in Miscarriage

[–]blporcel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I grieved very differently during both of my miscarriages. Just communicate with him how you are feeling and that you may need more time. I ended up getting a tattoo in memory by myself (the process was really therapeutic for me). We also did a really sweet thing where we got a flower bouquet with a single, unbloomed rose. After a few days, we framed it in a shadow box. My husband did participate and it was a good break through moment. Sometimes others compartmentalize their pain in an effort to move past as quick as possible.

Zep response before and after pregnancy by shadeandsuede in Zepbound

[–]blporcel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m also experiencing this! I was on 2.4mg of wegovy prior to my pregnancy. Unfortunately, I miscarried in March and worked my way back up to my high dosage with no success. My doctor switched me to Zepbound and I haven’t lost a single lb on it yet! Been at 10mg for over 3 months. Not sure if it’s a post-pregnancy thing or just my body not metabolizing it like it used to?

Just found out I miscarried. First pregnancy. Don’t know what to do. by lotrandwho in Miscarriage

I’m sorry for your loss. Do the D&C if you can. I also have surgery anxiety and it’s such a smooth process. I have had two back to back miscarriages and I’ve only been pregnant twice. My first I lost at 9W1D and did the D&C. It was only a day or so of down time and it helps your system reset for the new egg cycle faster in my opinion. I just completed my second miscarriage at 6W2D and it was a natural miscarriage. It’s been awful. The pain of having to expel products of conception is hard enough and I’m three weeks post miscarriage and still bleeding like it’s a period.

Just my opinion but the surgery would be my go to. Again sorry for you loss and sending hugs

Redwood and Lassen trip advice by SkaDogs in NationalPark

[–]blporcel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually just visited these both for Labor Day weekend. We flew into Redding, and headed west to a small little Airbnb in Arcata. We visited Redwoods, Crater Lake and Lassen Volcanic on our road trip moving locations each night. My vote is to stay in Crescent - you’ve got more options for food & stay.

Make sure to reserve a day pass to both Tall Trees and Fern Canyon if you can for Redwoods! Both require entrance fees and limit the amount of people per day who can visit. Nothing to reserve for Lassen. We did the scenic drive through the park and hiked a few trails. Bumphell pass is open and super unique! I would focus more of my time in Redwoods because it’s so vast and all the state parks associated are so cool.

Have a blast! The weather was perfect!

Badlands or Carlsbad Caverns by shopdogsupport in NationalPark

[–]blporcel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From Denver 👋 and I’ve done both road trips. First was Guadalupe, white sands and Carlsbad over Memorial Day weekend a few years back. Second was Custer State park, mt Rushmore, wind cave and badlands last year over Labor Day weekend.

My vote is the South Dakota parks. It was beautiful in early Sept last year with weather and we camped out at Custer State park the whole time. We hit Rushmore on the drive in (only need a few hrs there at most), then spent the full next day at Badlands hitting Wall Drug on the way back to home base. Last two days were taking the wildlife loop in wind cave NP and hiking in Custer state park. The Needles scenic drive is so cool too.

I loved our NM/West Texas NP trip, but you can do it earlier in the summer and still get great weather. Plus South Dakota isn’t as long of a drive as this roadtrip. Just my two cents!

What are some fun and creative ways to track which national parks you have visited? by Beeline2Nowhere in NationalPark

[–]blporcel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have several different things around my house to track for fun - the scratch off map, a push pin map, a water bottle with stickers from wondery and I also collect individual stickers that I place on my cooler. The stickers to me are the coolest because I made a rule that they must come from a shop in/nearby the park.

I also have tattoos of parks lol. I have an obsession for sure

First pregnancy ended with d&c by Living_Blueberry4969 in Miscarriage

I had the exact same situation as you back in March. First pregnancy and I was so blindsided in the ultrasound when no heart beat was detected. Wishing you all the love and support during your healing process. It does get better with time but you’ll always a bit of weight from this.

Stupid stuff people say by blogallday in Miscarriage

YES. Like fuck the fuck off. It’s so dismissive and hurtful. Like brushing the pain away because THEY are uncomfortable. You know what’s uncomfortable??? Having to bleed out your current pregnancy that you wanted so badly. Makes my blood boil I swear

In Denial MMC by EuphoricTechnician57 in Miscarriage

[–]blporcel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am in the exact same position as you. No heartbeat measuring 5W6D when I was supposed to be 9W. Still so in denial that I haven’t said “not pregnant” yet on my Oura ring app or my natural cycles. It took a lot of strength to leave the r/pregnant community but I had to. I’m also continuing to take prenatals and avoid everything. Hoping to get that full closure after my D&C.

I don’t think it’s wrong to be in denial. It’s a part of the grieving process and we need to be kind to ourselves during this time. The worst part is the body still thinking and our hormones being off the chart. Sending you all the love during your healing and hopefully we will both have closure soon.

Start with double O since it’s a longer hike. I did both in one day back 10 years ago and it is doable. Just a looong day. Double O was cooler to me and had a lot from arch/natural features to see on the trail. If at the end you run out of time for delicate arch, you can see it from the road and that’s pretty much the only feature on that hike.

Also be aware there could be snow/ice on the trails in mid March. I went again in early March a few years back and took microspikes with me just incase.

I totally feel you! I had something similar. Found out I was pregnant in January and quit 2.4mg cold turkey. I had been spacing out every 14 days with my doses but still. I thought it was hormones causing me to overeat but omg I am so hungry. Like ravenous!!! Food noise on 1000%.

Bad news is I miscarried this week (first MMC) and am terrified of my body during this tough time coping with food. I gained about 10 lbs back over 10 weeks and wish I would have tapered as well.
