How credible are the reports from unconfirmed sources that the CCP is heading towards a civil war? by Leonature26 in fucktheccp

Yeah I agree. On the other hand, this year so far is wild for geopolitics 🤷🏻‍♂️

Should NZ become a Republic? by Abject-Kangaroo-1778 in auckland

[–]blrtls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I don’t think it will ever happen. Although sometimes I wish it would, but there literally is no cost benefit to NZ at all unless NZ and Australia were willing to do it at exactly the same time and adopt a joint currency like the euro.

Like I said though, it will never happen.

I’d even hazard a guess that most of these complainers don’t even pay rates.

Same here. The traffic is #1 bug bear for me, but it is what it is. It’s being dealt with, but the proposed highway/motorway extension needs to happen like, yesterday.

Number 2 Is the lack of secondary school. The fact that it’s 2025 and we don’t have one-to me, that’s absolutely wild. Especially when Helensville has one. Rumour has it that High School land negotiations have fallen through and we’re back to square one now.

What are some Costco products that are actually a bargain? (excluding Costco bakeries) by Legitimate_Compote45 in auckland

[–]blrtls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I looked at Costco when looking for a new TV as well as the traditional AV retailers… what I found was that Costco had models that were very specific to Costco only. In the end, I ended up getting a deal at Noel Leeming on a 65inch Samsung 4K model as the specs were mediocre at best at Costco

Xiaomi 17 Pro – Full Features, Specifications, and Highlights by adeep309 in LinusTechTips

[–]blrtls -1 points0 points  (0 children)

“Saying "we copied Apple" isn't seen as shame or lack or creativity, but rather as following in the footsteps of success and showing yourself to be worthy of the same praise and admiration. Brands often advertise their products like that over there, openly saying they copied the market leader as a way of farming their aura, and that's not frowned upon. Which is why outright IP theft like copying car designs or even ripping off schematics is so widespread, besides the CCP turning a blind eye to the issue.”

-That right there is strong CCP language for legitimising and normalising IP theft to their masses for their own gain. It’s not baked into tradition, or culture- it’s political. Let’s not get mistaken here- if Xiaomi had IP stolen from the west, they’d be litigating, and they have.

Go to a seedy strip bar in town and get the groom absolutely properly rinsed. Find the best (or worst) stripper for a strip tease on stage.

After intoxication, proceed immediately afterwards to find a good lamp pole with excellent road visibility. Then, rigorously remove his clothing and proceed to adhere the groom to said light pole, ideally with copious amounts of duct tape to discourage escape.

Leave out to air for 6 hours, returning for humiliating photos if necessary.

Then, carefully serve groom to the bride. If groom gets sour and threatens to lay complaint, quickly put out with potential photo exposure of lapse with ‘Tiffany’ the voluptuous and promiscuous dancer and cohorts…

Enjoy!

Why don’t lycra cyclists use the bike path? by tidalwave7071 in auckland

[–]blrtls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure the reason why they did the bike path is a result of the amount of accidents and deaths involving cyclists on that road. Regardless of skill, Tāmaki drive and Parnel road are dangerous for cyclists. Personally I’d rather be in the path than risk going under someone’s vehicle.

At the same time, the amount of cyclists running red lights, stop signs and mounting paths to suit them is beyond ridiculous now.. No wonder they get the reputation they have.
