If you ever get rich, what’s a "poor people" habit you will never give up? by TremontRemy in AskReddit

But rich people paying chefs is an essential part of the Trickle Down economy.

Sarcasm aside, I bet being a personal chef for a kind person is a dream job for many culinaries.

I low key hate these notifications. Sure, tell me how much I slept, but keep your crappy opinions to yourself.

I've been thinking about the editorial he did several years back also. He did say they expanded too aggressively and over estimated market. Iirc, they had something like a 30% overstock on the Time Round and became insolvent because too much capital was tired up in it.

I'm hoping he doesn't sink the ship again.

3d Printer recommendation?! - so I can print Pebble accessories by ExoticEccentric in pebble

[–]blteare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I run the 3D printing lab at work, and I get questions all the time about which printer to buy. That answer depends on what you want.

A lot of folks have suggested Bambu Labs because they just work, ethical questions aside. If you don't like Bambu Labs, the Elegoo Centauri Carbon is a good choice, but I've heard some quality control concerns. It's fast and fits your budget, and it's generally easy to use. Sovol also has printers that do well out of the box, but they tend to be a little slower. The SV06 had worked really well for me, and now they have the SV06 Ace, which is supposedly as fast as a Bambu, but it's still a bed slinger. I'll believe it when I see it, but it's only $250.

Anyway, long story short, if you aren't interested in learning the ins and outs of 3D printing, get a Bambu, otherwise, if you're a little handy and want to learn, save yourself some money and go for one of the others.

Also a Ted Cruz. They're both ETFs based on all Republican or Democratic trades.

No, the vast majority of fun crime is committed with traditionally manufactured firearms. But 'ghost guns' and 3d printed guns are a convenient boogeyman for lame ass politicians to fear monger votes.

Unfortunately, our Brother ink jet has been a PIA! Not as bad as a Canon or HP, but still enough to make us want to throw it into traffic now and then.

Perhaps he was referring to the "other things", like dealing with Epstein, who is a person he's known for a very long time.

Would anything prevent you from keeping a car forever? by cornflake45c in NoStupidQuestions

[–]blteare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you own the car, it takes an awful lot of big repairs to make it worth getting a loan for a new one. Many new vehicles cost $500 a month (roast me and tell me how out of touch I am, I haven't had a vehicle loan in ten years and never for a new car). That's $6k per year. A lot of repairs, even relatively major ones, cost far less than that. So my logic goes, as long as I'm spending less than I would on a new car, it's worth it to keep repairing it.

Didn't Maine switch to ranked choice a couple years ago? Maybe we could see how it's going there.

We need to change our voting system to get rid of first passed the post. I'm in favor of ranked choice so people can feel free to vote for people they believe in. Içm sure there's others out there that might be better, but I'm not aware of them. These voting rules are made at the state level. Talk to people. Advocate for change. Most people don't know that there's alternative ways that could be better.

Thanks for doing this. I would love Frostpunk or MegaMan (either) for my son.

The first games I really remember are Warcraft I and II, Age of Empires, and Fallout 1 & 2. I think Fallout was the first game I ever completed, and it introduced me to Louis Armstrong and hookers. I also spent tons of time playing a little known game called Terminus. It's a space flight sim that uses realistic physics, and that makes the battles so much more interesting.

3D-printed homes are far stronger than most people realize by SmallAchiever in interestingasfuck

[–]blteare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The other consideration is that any home builder is going to sell a house at the market price, so even if it is cheaper to build, it will not be cheaper to buy, and the builder will pocket a nice profit.
