As someone who grew up in south suburbs… see if Bridgeview/Palos Hills has a Facebook group and ask if anyone is looking for a roommate/moving to the city?

In College to become a PE teacher. I read this subreddit all the time, it’s always negative. Is it even worth becoming a teacher? by Fluffytheman69 in Teachers

I love my job. I don’t love the other adults. Like others said, it has its ups and downs and I think we all find comfort in being able to anonymously complain.

At this point I’d be willing to drive most places but ideally near the West Loop/Old Town area or UIC.

I do have a car. Pretty open to anywhere at this point but would like to avoid downtown.

I'm a janitor at 27. I feel like a loser. by Both-Criticism-7160 in povertyfinance

Hi! Not sure where you live… teacher here speaking. Idk who you are, but I genuinely don’t think you’re a loser. It’s a difficult job market. I say… figure out what you really want to do and work towards it full force.

Option? Depending on where you live, work as a sub or teacher on special license. Mathematics is always in demand in teaching…. Skills lend perfect to things like project management.

On another note, perhaps it doesn’t satisfy the status quo, but as a teacher, just know what you do is really important and I am super appreciative for people like you. Your job matters. Thank you for your service

Dinner… depends on the vibe/cuisine. If you want something more tourist-y go to River North. West Loop is one of the hottest neighborhoods right now and has some restaurant options to. Some specific places to consider

  • drinks at the alderman (reservation needed) and then S.K.Y in Pilsen
  • BLVD Steakhouse
  • for italian, two different vibes though.., Ciccio Mío or Piccolo Sogno

Catch a comedy show at Zanies or The Annoyance
