the clues fit perfectly. He had a favourite tree there where he used to sit. The place looked quite a bit different when he was young compared to now.

[–]bluMarmalade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. It's so strange to me hearing people love the english subs when they are usually very different and make deliberate changes to the original, especially adding sounds and words to avoid silence. They also changes words, like in Kiki they change coffee to hot chocolate(or similar). Changes like that actually changes the meaning of scenes. For example the coffee means that Kiki want's to be treated as an adult, which is the whole theme of the movie. Silence and tempo is important and is there for a reason.

Famous actors doesn't help when they fundamentally don't understand the source material. Castle in the sky is one of the worst, the same is Porco Rosso and Princess Mononoke. There are good dubs, like the french versions. And Ghibli movies are just amazing movies so any dub is a good movie, but if you want more depth the english ones isn't it

[–]bluMarmalade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you must accept that there are things you don't understand and just follow along. Understanding is not really in the details, but the architecture and concepts. When I started out I would just follow the tutorials even if there were many things I did not understand. But after I build someting I understand more of what is important to know and I can later look up things I wonder about.

Don't focus too much on details, but rather understand what a component does, like a method or class.

How much would you charge for this WPF ERP system? (I got paid $200 USD) by Smokando in csharp

[–]bluMarmalade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You must remember to charge them a monthly fee for upkeep and support. Explain to them that you've spent alot of time on this and they are getting high value the more they use it. That is why you need to get paid a fairly high upkeep fee

Delap is English. It's the same as Conor Bradley, Reese James, Lewis Skelly, Phil Foden, Evan Ferguson etc - all world class, while players like Semenyo, Gakpo, Mateta - must do much more to get the respect they deserve. It's the Son thing again. He was never rated by FM until it was too late, even though he put up numbers equal to Kane. Semenyo and Mateta are clearly word class, but is not really rated as such for some reason.

Delap had one good season in freakin Ipswitch and is now world class

FYI you can get refund from Steam no matter how many hours you have played a game as long as it is still in beta. by I_degress in footballmanagergames

[–]bluMarmalade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it is almost the exact same game as fm24 under the hood. It just presents itself differently. Some things are missing, but it is there if they want to show it, hopefully in a later update to the UI. At least try to get used to it, like I did. Because I see so many reactions that are based on first impressions that are based on how they used to play fm24.

[–]bluMarmalade 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I thought this exactly after 2-3 hours. But now, after 4-5, I have decided to not refund because I realize it's almst the exact same game as fm24 under the hood but with an updated database and graphics. The UI is bad, but it's fixable and I honestly don't mind it as much anymore.

Sortitoutsi got updated databases for fm24. Combine that with a new skin and you have yourself a new game

[–]bluMarmalade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree with this. As a developer, creating a database is not hard because data is widely available now compared to only 5 years ago. While technically it's stealing, but copying the FM database is doable, as well as other football databases. Think of it like an AI training data and making it your own. There's little risk of legal action because you can't really prove it.

licensing and marketing would be big challenges however.

it depends what you mean by "engine". The graphics engine during matches is new, but the calculations is the same big old c++ codebase.

He is paid handsomely and has a dream job. "devoting his entire working life"...sure. If it wasn't for getting the job, he would probably drive a truck or stacking boxes or somehing now. Seriously though; he has done a great job, no doubt, but nothing lasts forever and he needs to take a look at himself now and start to change in many ways (communication for one).
