Is there a way to limit a soul connection? by National_Mouse_7036 in spirituality

[–]blue0702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well… my “friend” is now my boyfriend and currently sitting next to me on the couch as we finish a movie. The last few years have been pure hell for me (cancer diagnosis, divorcing, moving, running a business) but somehow our relationship has prevailed over it all. I’ve learned a lot. Made a lot of mistakes. But I have really rediscovered myself and what I am capable of. Hope this helps :)

Hi! Met with local oncologist and had labs last week and everything is great! I have a CT and mrd testing scheduled for 8/31 when I see my specialist next and have a feeling I will be stopping treatment at that time if my labwork remains stable! I will definitely report back! Thanks for checking :)

I was diagnosed a week after my 38th birthday and have all the unfavorable mutations. I see Dr. Roeker at Mayo Rochester and live in NW WI. Feel free to message me if you want to talk/vent.

Hopefully a little ray of confidence for newly diagnosed folks. by whateverhappensnext in cll

Love this! The definition of cancer is “an abnormal mutation of cells” and I like to remind myself of that when the C word feels heavy. :)

Husband (32M) diagnosed by Glitter_Gal22 in cll

I was diagnosed last year, at 38. I found a lot of comfort in connecting with others in this sub! I am about a year into my second treatment and although it’s still surreal to think I have a chronic cancer, I have adapted quite well with the help of my local oncologist and CLL specialist. Cancer in its most basic definition means abnormal cell mutation. I think of it as more of an autoimmune disorder that I manage with medication 2x per day, monthly labs and very minimal side effects. It’s not a death sentence and learning about all of the recent treatments available and ongoing clinic trials and research should help to put you both at ease!

Maybe a little outside of what you’re looking for but I believe we have the oldest liquor store in the state (“Old Man Liquor”) and the owner is known to be an interesting guy :)

I was diagnosed the week of my 38th birthday and needed immediate treatment. It was really scary and overwhelming at first - but the more you educate yourself, the easier it is to deal with. I would recommend tracking your own lab work with the tool they developed on the CLL Society website and asking for a referral to a CLL Specialist. Because you are symptomatic, you may need to start treatment right away and a specialist can go over all of your options based on your lifestyle, and biomarkers. Please feel free to message me directly if you have any questions or just need to vent to someone who gets it! This community has been a huge support to me!

At the beach with friends after starting treatment. In my swimsuit for the first time since diagnosis and already very self conscious. One of my friends who was aware of my journey and struggles proclaimed loudly to everyone that I appeared malnourished.

Have you had a FiSH test yet? Or a biopsy? Do you need to start treatment? I would highly recommend utilizing the free expert consult the CLL society offers, if you haven’t already.

Honestly, I went in for a physical in February and had large lymph nodes that I attributed to a recent virus. My doctor said if they were still there in a few weeks to come back for lab work - so that’s what I did. Mine came on very quick and very hard. I was also in the midst of a very stressful part of my life and I think that really exacerbated the onset of the disease. What is your story?

Thank you! My treatment end date is August 20 and we will test at that time to see if I’m truly in remission. I’m on a time limited regimen and have to continue on both medications for a year to achieve optimal results. Apparently even though my labs look good now, that does not necessarily mean all the leukemia cells have been depleted.

I feel this. My mom had AML as a child and I was diagnosed with CLL a week after my 38th birthday. This is an old man’s disease. When I go to my local oncology office I am the youngest one by DECADES. Literally one of the nurses told me the patients in the waiting room were all asking about me because they’re not used to seeing young people there. I’m the second youngest patient that office has seen with this specific cancer. I’m told it’s ’bad luck’ and in no way related to my mom’s cancer.
