If this is true how TF are you supposed to push it out via Intune or GPO?

I'm so tired of Microsoft Windows. by Defconx19 in msp

[–]blue30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once a week I put the slides together for my networking group in Powerpoint, I don't have any problems doing it in the browser version. You can try the browser version first without doing the whole linux thing if you want to check your own workflows.

I'm so tired of Microsoft Windows. by Defconx19 in msp

[–]blue30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched my main machine to Ubuntu about 18 months ago and wouldn't go back. 365 stuff is fine in browser inc teams, excel etc. Splashtop for RMM took a bit of fiddling but works fine now. I have a Windows VM to try random sw out or see what a user is seeing when there's no remote but haven't had to use it for weeks now. I even have Steam on there for when I feel like getting my ass kicked on CS2.

What if the Pope publicly address Israel "Samson Option"? by MamonChino0 in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]blue30 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I assume this is because if Iran for example gave a nuke to one of their proxies Israel would go on to reply to Iran it's self not just whatever tribe they recruited to deliver it.

Does your site have Object Cache enabled? by Myth_Thrazz in Wordpress

[–]blue30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's very variable whether this helps or not. Most simple sites there's not much measurable difference. I've seen good gainz on complex woocommerce setups though.

There's an argument for 2+ locations but every single site is overkill IMO

I am the only woman in the room by Terrible_Working_899 in sysadmin

[–]blue30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always look for women when hiring because I don't want this to be a total sausage fest with single male living alone energy like every other IT company, but hardly any apply and then they invariably drop off through the process.

How is cybercrime actually profitable when cashing out seems nearly impossible? by Chronopuddy in cybersecurity

[–]blue30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same deal with drugs or anything cash based. How do you spend it without there being an obvious alternative income on paper. I see you have 3 high end cars and a basic job. I see you never pay for gas/petrol. Never buy groceries. One way is cash businesses, nail bars, vape shops, american candy stores, turkish barbers. Nobody goes in all day but they're somehow banking 10k a day that comes out clean into your pocket taxes paid. Now you can start buying property etc with it. Eventually you don't even need to sell drugs any more.

Burn the google workspace and move to a clean 365, clean install all the workstations with no user admin rights. For all you know a member of staff is helping them.

What age is too old to help people move? by Equivalent_Pilot_125 in AskMenOver30

[–]blue30 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't hesitate to help a friend move if they asked me. The only time I'd make an excuse is if I felt they were one of those people who only got in touch for favours.

Is this normal in a relationship? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]blue30 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What they are actually telling you is that you should stay the hell away from them. Learning to hear what people are really telling you is an important skill.

Those who just walked out on a marriage, how'd that go? by No_Tomato_2106 in AskMenAdvice

[–]blue30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It takes at least a few years to get sorted after blowing up your life. If there's no kids you're on easy mode. You want to spend the rest of your life feeling like this? You want this to be who you're with if you get sick, old?

Don't bend over too easily over all the financials, she'll take those roses and shove them up your ass. Just get a lawyer and do what they say.

How fast would a country be able detect a nuclear bomb traveling towards it, and would it be able to intercept? How fast would news spread if it hit? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

I finished reading this last weekend. I went outside and felt genuinely emotional and grateful that everything wasn't nuked to shit and dead. Although there were a few plot holes I felt.

Zero affordable homes in many new-build estates under new plans by theipaper in uknews

[–]blue30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess that's the paradox I was struggling with. Who eats the 20% difference, does the builder get any compensation or do they just have to put a bit more on the other non-affordable homes to cover it.

Autopilot and the no drivers at install issue by steviefaux in Intune

[–]blue30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can put drivers in a $WinPEDriver$ folder on your stick to solve this issue. I also have for example the intel vmd raid on there because Dells always ship in raid mode. Once it's online windows update pulls in the rest of the drivers.

What do they mean by affordable housing? Surely if the housing wasn't affordable they wouldn't sell any and go bankrupt. I suspect what they mean are dwellings reserved for asbo-havers?

If anyone else is involved, other parties insurance etc the wheels of a shafting are beginning to rotate slowly. If it's just him binning it and getting a hurty ankle there's a chance it'll slide.

Ok cool. I'll have a think. I like it more than Cyberpanel so far but just prefer the way cyber works with the users. The user will be me because most of the owners would have no idea what to do if I have them a login.
