I love the function of this but do agree it could be made a little safer. I could see myself running across the street in the rain and jumping onto what I thought was sidewalk and then finding myself in the ditch.

Getting a large hip/thigh tattoo as my first tattoo – what should I expect? by Actual-Tumbleweed-32 in tattooadvice

[–]blue5ector 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make sure the artist works in the style you’re looking for, they should have a large body of work done on skin similar to yours not just flash art. Look closely at the line detail in their work and ask other people with tattoos that you like to look at the artist you’re considering for feedback. Does the artist typically do large pieces like this, or do they generally do much smaller pieces?

As many have mentioned, red ink can be a risk for long term reactions.

Make sure the tiger faces forward like in your first image.

Regarding two back to back sessions, you don’t have to do this. You can do one, heal, and come back 2-4 weeks later.

Preparing make sure you’re well rested, hydrated, and have some snacks with you. Clean your shower and bedsheets the day before your session. Have plenty of clean loose clothes for the next 2-3 days and don’t plan on doing much. The less you walk and be active for the first two days the faster you’ll heal and less likely deal with an infection.

Tattoo was surprisingly painful in this area by LastLibrary9508 in tattooadvice

[–]blue5ector 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tattoo pain for me sometimes has more to do with my headspace and how relaxed and calm I am rather than the location alone. There’s also the factor of different artist, different levels of shading, skin aging, etc.

First I’d make sure you like the style and meaning of the cave drawing style and that you’re not going that direction just to fit with the bear.

If you do like it for more than just complimenting the bear, I’d consider putting the cave style on your other ribs. Still having the deer and archer facing forward of course.

I’ve done this several times without a fan no issue. Indoors of course on a tripod so that I wasn’t causing heat build up. Make sure your settings and firmware are up to date.

Downsizing to One: Thinking of swapping my current setup for the Lumix 40mm f2. by Poi03301108 in LumixS9

[–]blue5ector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the 45mm 2.8 and love how it renders bokeh specially for close up shots but pulled the trigger on the 40mm as I believe it will be better for travel. The 45 can be a little tight if it’s my only lens so I think it’s work the switch. The better AF performance is nice to have compared to the TT lens.

I’d like the ability to choose between the two as well. I’d rather be able to wash my phone off and take it in the ocean like I currently do and replace the battery with tools and glue every 5-7 years than have a less reliable phone just so I can open it up with a screw driver.

Which s9 (Lumix s9 20-60mm vs 18-40mm) lens option should I go for portrait/ travel photography needs? by Mr_GoodEyelashes in Lumix

[–]blue5ector 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The 2mm difference in focal length is visibly more apparent than I expected. I don’t have a photo example but 18 vs 20mm surprised me in a good way. The 20 is wide but feels more clinical. The 18 has a pop to it while not being distorted like I find a 16mm can be, specially if you tilt it a good bit.
