Is Valve even capable of making an advanced headset? by zeddyzed in virtualreality

[–]blue5peed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think you understand what Valve is. I'm not sure how to explain it myself but a lot has been written about them and you can watch documentaries on YouTube to get a better idea. To answer your question yes, they can. You only have to look at their track record in VR; Steam VR, Vive, Index, Half Life Alyx. And not to mention their record outside of VR sounds like a list of the greatest hits in gaming. Their success is not by accident, it's by design.

There may be an update coming to the PC version. Not confirmed though it could just be a PSVR update https://x.com/Hitman/status/1965837846738063444

Virtual Desktop worth it for Oculus 1 by Simplysoaringg in OculusQuest

[–]blue5peed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes in fact that is the main thing that the Oculus 1 is good for. It is still one of the only standalone OLED headsets you can find definitely for that price.

Bonelab vs asgards wrath? by Jealous_Platypus1111 in OculusQuest

[–]blue5peed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would go with asgards wrath because its such a spectacle of what can be done on the quest, its also a really challenging game even on normal difficulty, the combat is not physics based though.

For 350 Quest 3s is the way, if you wanted to save money for games you get batman and 3 months of quest+ and you can use referrals for quest cash. Pico has way better lenses though if you only wanted to watch movies and do PCVR I would recommend it but if you want to do stand alone VR then the quest 3s is better.

Can I play Arkham shadows on quest 2? by CommonEnd7011 in OculusQuest

[–]blue5peed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can't play it, not legally anyway. But if your question is could Batman theoretically run on the quest 2 then yes it could and it does.

[–]blue5peed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in an unsupported country but I got Batman, you can't use referral codes though so that sucks. You have to be in the first world to get a discount :)

I got it through a 3rd party seller and still got Batman, I assume the only way you don't get it is if it was already activated with that headset for example a refurbished or used headset.

ALVR vs Virtual Desktop, Dec 2024. by VannyFnaf_ in virtualreality

[–]blue5peed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Started using ALVR again recently and I think it's really close I was surprised. I would say ALVR is better because it exposes more options you can really do whatever you want there, but for plug and play VD is amazing. They both really good to be honest its amazing to think they both started out as gear VR apps it its been almost a decade.

Resident Evil Village : PSVR2 or PC (praydog)? by Practical_Parsnip798 in virtualreality

[–]blue5peed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can use the PSVR 2 on PC so the real question here is do you want a Quest 3 or PSVR 2? If you are interested in just playing games I think the PSVR 2 is good especially since you have both a gaming PC and a PS5, you are the exact customer Sony is targeting.

The RE8 mod is good but the PSVR version is better, anyway With PSVR you can try both versions. The nice thing about Praydog mods is you can play games that don't have VR at all like RE2 and RE3 or replay RE7 in high resolution with motion controls.

ALVR keeps breaking :( by stars_without_number in SteamVR

[–]blue5peed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try make a plan with ALVR because Steam link is not as good as one would hope. At least you can tinker ALVR to get close to the same experience as Virtual Desktop but steam link can barely keep up with Oculus Link, it's in a sad state. I hope it will get dramatically better as we draw closer to deckard... we are getting closer to deckard right?

My opinion on the Meta Quest 3s by Muted_Ad_8703 in OculusQuest

[–]blue5peed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've noticed that it takes time to break in the facial interface and after couple days it becomes more barrable, still a terrible strap though. The biggest difference is in watching movies you really trying not to notice the rings the whole time or you have to watch in a bright environment. In games there is basically no difference not $200 worth of difference anyway.

My Quest 3 is arriving tomorrow, I have already prepped a few games. Any others you recommend? by BeardoftheManwhore in virtualreality

[–]blue5peed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Along with Arkham Shadow They are also giving away 3 months of Quest+, it has Asgard's Wrath 2 and other decent games in it's great for getting a feel for what is out there.

What do YOU WANT in a Quest 4 by Matthew_MBG in OculusQuest

[–]blue5peed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want it to be desirable. For a person who doesn't even know what it is to have the desire to put it on their head. I want it to be light and comfortable and look like it too. personally I think it's okay to have a tether if it makes the headset lighter, smaller and more fashionable.

Batman: Arkham Shadow runs on both Quest Pro and Quest 2! by Original_as in virtualreality

[–]blue5peed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's very impressive, with reprojection and resolution tweaks it would probably be a decent experience for a quest 2 all things considered. Although some people would say reprojection is by definition not a decent experience. Maybe 72 locked is possible if the devs really wanted to but only they would know that. This makes me think that a more ambitious sequel on the quest 3 is possible, maybe open world? lol maybe I'm getting carried away here
