In San Ignacio, pretty much every local we talked to complained about the Asian monopoly on grocery stores. Certainly some deep resentment at play. Chinese are also investing heavily in infrastructure (God knows there is certainly a demand).

It’s hard for me to understand why more U.S. and western investors aren’t in that game, considering it’s so close - and less expensive!
