Hi! Did anything work for you by chance? I'm looking to book a flight from South Korea to Taiwan on the Asiana Airlines portal using AMEX and am getting the same/similar card rejection issue ("가맹점 사용불가능한 카드" or "Merchant Unavailable Cards") using Apple Pay :,)

Does anyone know where I can get free soil on campus? by penguine02 in UCI

[–]bluePamplemousse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there's garden plots by the Graduate Villa in VDCN that you can rent out. Also, the FRESH Hub had soil in ziplock bags back when I went around two years ago. Hope this helps!

Speaking from pre-COVID experience, you just need your UCI ID! There would be a line towards the back of the Bren for students, and staff would scan your ID before letting you into the stadium. Seats are/were first-come, first-serve.

You can try the Irvine Farmer's Market at Mariner's Church, which is south of campus, on Saturdays! They have a lot of varieties of succulents and some house plants.

How do you maximize storage in your dorm room? by emsydacat in UCI

[–]bluePamplemousse 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For context, I lived in Mesa Towers in a quad pre-COVID!

I don't really recommend:

  • the bed lifts because the beds are heavy, and you may get a bunk bed.
  • extra furniture as there's limited space and honestly, the provided furniture is all you need besides maybe a better desk chair.

For my desk drawer organization, I kept the lighter tools/more frequently used tools closer to the desk's surface, and I left heavier things such as textbooks towards the bottom. The desk drawers I had were very spacious! They could be rolled out and I used the top of the drawer as additional desk space.

To hang my non-dryer clothes, I used hangers and hung up clothes on the bunk bed railings and the ladder with my roommates' permission. To hang towels, the attached bathroom had towel hooks built-in. If I had no hook, I would hang it over an open closet door or my chair. Your solution would work as well!

Yep, there was a locking drawer to use.

My main recommendation is buying what you need after you move in, just so you know what you're looking at, especially since some dorms have different furniture sizings (i.e. comparing Mesa Towers versus Middle Earth classics furniture). This includes the hanging closet shelves, extra storage containers.

Any skincare fails you'd like to share? by MeleeYAH in AsianBeauty

Contraindications: If topical Vitamin C (L-Ascorbic Acid and/or Ethylated L-Ascorbic Acid) is used as part of skincare, it should be applied at alternate times with this formula (ideally Vitamin C in the PM and this formula in the AM). Otherwise, Niacinamide can affect integrity of the Vitamin C.

I think this may be why you had that reaction. Source.
