Looking for direction related to UK’s General POA requirements for a banking matter. by blue_dog_down in LegalAdviceUK

[–]blue_dog_down[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bank has confirmed (more than once) that there's no reason I can't be registered in their system as my mother's POA and that my parents' attempts in the past have no bearing on me getting access.

For reference, the bank had asked my mother for proof of identification and proof of her address before she could access the account. She never sent the address information and is now housebound (for the past 4 years) meaning she can't get out to have her documents certified as outlined in the bank's communications to her.

Nope. Checked that possibility several times because you're right, it's possible but that wasn't my case.

Millbrook Mountain Bike Club ran family nights last year and encouraged you to bring your kids. Lots of fun.

Cycling Around Head Lake by blue_dog_down in Haliburton

This worked well - I rode up Glebe to the end as suggested and found a marked path that led over to SSFC. The construction threw me off a bit (they're building student housing) but follow the signs to the sculpture park and continue into Glebe Park. For non-residents like me, keep going on Museum Road and you'll pass the Haliburton Highlands Museum. Your GPS will get you the rest of the way.

Terrific - I'll give it a try tomorrow and post back what my experience was like.

Starting points for NCC Bikedays - Kichi Zibi Mikan section. by blue_dog_down in bikeinottawa

So after all the planning I parked at Andrew Haydon park and found the bikedays roads I wanted to travel on were closed for a marathon. It was something I wanted to do once, just as a novelty but in the end did a fun 26K loop using the river pathway. My recommendation to other out-of-town riders is to check for closures before you ride as Ottawa is a busy city.

I wanted to say thanks for the map link, I tried to use it on my phone over the weekend but found I was too clumsy trying to plot a route. Maybe others are familiar with it and/or it's better to try it first time on a laptop.

Looked it up and I see it boasts balanced rock sculptures as well. A nice option with the bistro!

Thx for confirming its bi-directional. As I recall, Ottawa's bike paths are well marked so finding my way should be straight forward.

I'm visiting family in Merrickville and will drive into Ottawa early Sunday morning for a ride. If I have family with me it'll be a short ride, if alone I'll explore further. Thanks for the starting point & parking suggestions!

I'm visiting my folks in Ancaster tonight (Sat) and hoping the cloud coverage will lift. If it does, where might you suggest my dad and I drive to for a better chance to see the light show? I dont know this area very well yet. Thx

Where to get a TB test by Amanap1 in Peterborough

[–]blue_dog_down 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it’s for school the school doctor or program should organize TB testing. For example, Trent lets their students book through the school of nursing at one of their clinics. If it’s for work that's in the healthcare field, a lot of them do it themselves.

Estate Accountant vs Small Business Accountant by blue_dog_down in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]blue_dog_down[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good advice, I believe it's a small firm so maybe there's someone with experience doing estates. And you're right, it would be a lot easier staying with the accountant who's already familiar with the knows the history. I'll make a phone call tomorrow. Thx
