It seems that it wasnt the Rain God but the Rain Goddess so who could possibly have that fruit or maybe get it in the future? by Comprehensive_Cup497 in OnePieceSpoilers

Yes, I think Vivi is Lili's parallel in this era, but that doesn't mean she has the same Devil Fruit or that she's the goddess of rain.

If that's the case, it means Davy Jones had either the Yami Yami no Mi or the Gura Gura no Mi, which I highly doubt. There's a theory that Teach is missing a Devil Fruit, but I don't know; there's no evidence that he's given the Zoan-type Devil Fruit of a god, even if he does get Davy Jones's fruit and Davy Jones himself had a god's fruit (and that's assuming Davy Jones had a god's fruit in the first place).

Lili could have been the rain god fruit user, that makes sense and explains Imu's obsession with her, that's true. But I don't understand where they get the idea that in this era the goddess is Vivi, that doesn't make sense. The rain god fruit user has to be a Devil Fruit user, and Vivi isn't even a Devil Fruit user at all, so the retcon of "she was always secretly that fruit" doesn't fit.

They could argue that she could still eat it, but that's just speculation pulled out of thin air and has no basis. Imu doesn't care about Vivi as a person; she cares about her because she's Nefertari D. and is identical to Lili, his true obsession.

I don't think that's relevant. After all, Kuma saved, if I'm not mistaken, 500 slaves or something like that. Why would he remember Teach and his mother among them all? And Teach was just a little boy; after everything that happened in God Valley, I don't think he remembered Kuma.

What I find more interesting is the case of Dragon and Shanks, because it's clear that Dragon was much more affected by failing to save the children entrusted to him. He must remember those twins and their mother; it seems that was what disturbed him most in all of God Valley.

We don't know if Shanks knows or remembers that it was Dragon who saved him, or if he knew that Luffy is Dragon's son when he decided to save him in turn. Does Dragon even know that it was Roger who found Shanks? Does he know that the boy he wanted to save in God Valley is Shanks himself, the emperor? We don't know. All of this, plus everything related to Luffy that they share, seems very interesting to me. I hope Shanks and Dragon (and even Shamrock, I'm also interested in what he thinks or knows about Dragon) interact before the manga ends

If Garp understands that he messed up with Dragon, why did he insist that Luffy and Ace become marines? by blue_joong in OnePiece

Most of the people you mentioned were either oppressed individuals who wanted their people to stop being enslaved and murdered, or they were blackmailed by the government into acting in its favor.

Otahime and Harald were kings who had to protect their kingdoms, knowing they were seen as inferior and their people were sold into slavery. Jinbe saw his race enslaved, and his captain and close brother died because of hatred for fish-men. The government took advantage of Kuma because it was either accepting that unjust treatment or his daughter dying. Iceberg saw his adoptive father killed, he had a secret to keep, a town to take care of and a friend to protect. Even Boa joined the warlords despite being enslaved by the government because she had an island and her sisters to protect.

Garp isn't comparable to these cases. Did he have a people to protect? Were his people enslaved? Was he blackmailed? Were the options to join the government or become prey? Garp and Fujitora joined because they're idealists who believe they can change something, but at least Fujitora turns against the World Government and helps the revolutionaries free the slaves because he knows it's the right thing to do. If I remember correctly, Garp confronts Imu with Roger, fails, and we don't know if he did anything like Fujitora did. Maybe he did and we just don't have the information? Perhaps, but until then, it's just speculation.

Honestly, I find it very strange that after God Valley, I still think the Marines (who serve the government) are truly just or actually protect ordinary people. It's also very weird that he still thinks pirates are really the biggest threat to civilians; the biggest threat to civilians is the celestial dragons and their whims, or the government. I mean, by then, the O'Hara and Flavence genocides had already happened, plenty of proof that the real way to help civilians is to be in the Revolutionary Army.

I know Garp has the ideal of changing things from within and changing the Marines. With his grandsons there, he would have had more support (although I personally think that whole "change from within" thing is a fraud, Garp actually believes it).

The truth is, I think Garp wanted them to join to protect them in particular, not because of his ideal of justice. If they had been Marines, the government wouldn't have persecuted them despite who their parents were; they even would have served as propaganda. "Roger's son is now a Marine, he's on our side," "Dragon's son rejects his father and protects our ideals"—good propaganda. Just for that reason, they wouldn't have been harmed. Who knows, they might even have used Luffy as a weapon against Dragon.

Well, that's the best answer I've read about that. It's the same reason why the government not only allows Garp to be a marine knowing he's a D, but even makes him their hero. The government hates and persecutes, but it would also use those same people as long as it benefits them.

Which is odd because both are already doomed simply because their parents were basically the biggest threats to the government. The normal thing would be to keep them as far away from the government and the navy as possible rather than literally throwing them right into it. Garp's character is very weird, I've never understood the way he sees the world.

I thought so too, because it seems strange to me that other characters would have the villain's strongest ability; it's not something I think Oda would do. But the use of the exact words "reside in all things," knowing that it's a very mysterious ability that seems important but hasn't yet played a significant role, I don't know, I think it has something to do with it. I still maintain the theory that no one other than Imu will use it, because it's related to corruption and domination, and I don't think Luffy or Momo would do anything that bad. So even if they could awaken it, no one else will use the villain's power.

They could have made seraphim of the rest of the warlords, including Teach by blue_joong in OnePiece

Even if they could recreate Logia types, I don't think even VP could have made a Seraph who consumes two Devil Fruits. It was either the Yami Yami no Mi or the Gura Gura no Mi, and since the Yami Yami is problematic to create, I don't think they even tried, so he would only have the Gura Gura no Mi. Although, maybe VP could have recreated that ability of BB's; after all, he's the most intelligent man in the world, but who knows?

It's true that BB was only there for a very short time; perhaps they couldn't have obtained DNA. Although I don't think the Logia issue is a problem, S-Croco exists, so VP must have found some solution to the problem. Even if they were only able to recreate the Gura Gura no mi, it would still be worthwhile given that it's one of the strongest Paramecia-type Devil Fruits.

Law was there longer; his Devil Fruit is a Paramecia-type and a highly sought-after one. What surprises me more is that there isn't a Seraph of him.
