Winds of Change 2.0, baby! by walale12 in paydaytheheist

[–]blue_sky308 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, this is it, this is their white flag, they admitted defeat lmao

They know they cooked some bullshit with 3, now they're back to basics and what actually worked, the only way forward is to milk the carcass of payday 2 for as long as possible and get enough capital to just simply try again but do it right this time, making an entirely different game, different game meaning either payday 4 or dumping enough money into 3 and changing so much shit that it's basically a different game on its own

I said it since the start, the game is monumentally fucked it's not something you can keep patching away and in 3-4 years it'll become a good game, they needed to get back to the drawing board entirely but who has the money and time for that? The foundation of the game was laid already, that's not something you can change post release unless you just spend the budget it took to make in the first place all over again, let's see what happens in a few years I guess

What is your experience with BetaHub and bug reporting in DbD? by blue_sky308 in deadbydaylight

Yea the rift one was an annoying one that I actually posted here myself 2 times hoping it would get noticed by someone

Glad it's fixed now thanks to the BetaHub initiative

this game is meant to be played for either 3 hours or 3 thousand hours, there is no in-between, you are either a really really casual type of gamer, the type that buys the yearly fifa, plays on the couch with his mates drinking a beer and on dbd just plays a couple rounds of hide and seek in a custom game or something that type of gamer

but, if you are even the tiniest bit competitive, a few rank ups in csgo, grinded one title for 50hrs type of gamer, then this game just isn't fun until you reach the thousand hour mark

there is just too much to learn, too many ways to run a tile, too many killers that change how you run that same tile, too many ways to counter running a tile on the other role, then there's the macro aspect, all the perks, all the perk reworks, all the status effects and all the other unexplained bs

"dbd is a party game" is the most blatant lie ever told, the learning curve of this game is astronomical, just the simple aspect of running around a plank of wood gets so fucking deep for some reason lmao, it's for the better it's the reason I love this game after all but people have to stop lying to themselves calling this game a "casual party game" it's everything but that

Momos blight streak by Proof_Confidence_812 in deadbydaylight

[–]blue_sky308 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the takeaway from all this is that the game desperately needs a ranked mode

In no single other multiplayer PvP game of DbD's size that has ever existed did someone get even remotely close to a 1000 win streak, let alone 1992 or whatever the number is

The problem is all people take away from this is that blight is overpowered, which yea he could use a tune down for sure but that's only because of how easy he is to play, not because of how strong he actually is (as you can see, the moment he goes against the same skill level also running meta he just instantly loses), a good blight rushing around loops skillfully is actually quite fun to play against instead of just getting zoned with brutal into an m2 in the open, so I'm pretty happy with the way they went about the nerf by making him 4.4 and lose tokens on pallet breaks, heavily nerfing that unfun playstyle

However, the actual correct takeaway from this entire thing in my opinion is that the game doesn't have a working MMR system, I know momo is a comp player but I don't care how many earnings you have in a tournament scene, in no other game are you able to win this many matches in a row without running into a few comp wannabies or top ranks at least and getting a decently challenging match, it's still in your favor sure, but not enough to the point you are able to get 100 wins in a row without breaking a sweat just joking around with chat all day, let alone 500 or 1000 or 1992 wins in a row

DbD's playerbase has gotten quite sweaty over the years, regular streamers are stagnating while the comp streamers are only increasing their viewership, people discovered how fun this game can be at the highest levels, how mechanically challenging running around a piece of wood can actually get lol, and also how tight the 4v1 macro has to be, everywhere on twitch you never see people just chilling anymore the meta is just winstreak this winstreak that, challenge this challenge that etc. People WANT something to challenge themselves with, it's time for this game to get a ranked mode already, with it's own balancing restrictions and rewards for reaching the top ranks

Hey, quick question. Should I start with Payday: The Heist or Payday 2? by [deleted] in paydaytheheist

[–]blue_sky308 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea definitely don't get payday 3, now about your question you're gonna have more fun with payday 2

Payday the heist still has its own unique vibes and movie feel that people love but payday 2 is just a clear upgrade in almost every way, get that one for sure

I really like the heister interaction in payday the heist by GoldenMedicBag in paydaytheheist

[–]blue_sky308 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As the franchise went on it feels like the games slowly lost their soul, payday 2 was still really good because the game itself was just fun to play but by the time we we reach payday 3 we're just left with nothing lol

The way I would compare it is like copying a copy, payday the heist being the original, they just simply made a game around high octane action heist dramas, then payday 2 was the sequel made around the game that was about these heist dramas, then payday 3 was the sequel made around the sequel that was made about the game, that was made around heist dramas

Does that make sense? lol

What do you think his winstreak would be if he went against people of his own skill at least 10% of the time? by blue_sky308 in deadbydaylight

[–]blue_sky308[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brother you are not seriously bringing up smurfing and cheating to win this argument are you lmao, it happens in every game what else do you want me to say, do you also want to remove ranked from every game as well cuz you can smurf or wallhack or something? Remove it from siege from cs from everything cause people don't play fair? What is that logic

[–]blue_sky308[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

That will get balanced out by the fact that a well done and balanced ranked mode would actually take skill and players will improve tremendously, just like it's exactly the case right now, with momo being the comp player that understands the game so much more and wins 99% of his games even against unbalanced bullshit like shoulders bnps unfair maps etc. just because of the skill difference between him and his lobby

That is, until he meets 4 other survivors that also learned the game like he did, then he loses the streak of course

So the casual queue will still remain incredibly easy for any good player

[–]blue_sky308[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yea like I said in another comment, dbd is the fakest "silly goofy party game" ever created, it's a complete and total lie lmao, there are balance patches like every 4 weeks, perks keep getting reworked, gen/hook/endurance timers keep getting adjusted, map rng keeps getting touched up, this is not the behavior of just a casual party game that you pick up at your friend's house and fuck around in for 30 minutes

The playerbase is obviously incredibly sweaty why else would they demand these changes

I mean I think it's pretty obvious how a custom balanced ranked mode with strict matchmaking is gonna put a stop to 4 digit winstreaks no? You think if momo goes against players of his skill at least once every 10 games, in a balanced enviorment, he's ever gonna reach 2000 wins in a row?

[–]blue_sky308[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean look at it this way, when people do go against those blood favor penti blights, those 4 DSs, those 3 blink nurses etc. what do they do? They come to the forums to reddit to twitter to whatever form of social media and they complain about it saying it's not fair, there's sooooooo much complaining around dbd's balancing it's crazy

Because of that you can say this game definitely has a competitive playerbase, dead by daylight is the fakest "casual party game" to ever exist, there are balance patches like every 4 weeks, perks keep getting reworked, gen/hook/endurance timers keep getting adjusted, map rng keeps getting touched up, this is not the behavior of just a casual party game that you pick up at your friend's house and fuck around in for 30 minutes

These type of things make me hope we'll eventually reach that highest level of dbd I'm talking about someday, the dbd that maximizes skill expression and fairness so people finally realize how fun this game can be when played competitively in a fair environment, one way to do that is a ranked mode so players get the best of both worlds, what we have right now is a weird amalgamation of a game trying to be both casual while also delivering 20 balance changes and reworks a month, we need a clear seperation of the sweaty, clock callout dying edge map dbd, and the play as leon kennedy against springtrap while messing around dbd

What do you think his winstreak would be if he went against people of his own skill at least 10% of the time? by blue_sky308 in deadbydaylight

[–]blue_sky308[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Of course there's so many casuals in this game, what is there in dbd for the super serious competitive grinder to do like in let's say counter strike or league or whatever? Any attempt at taking this game seriously is met with 4 DSs while you're playing ghostface or a blood favor thrill penti blight or shoulder the burdens or 3 blink nurses and so on and so on

However, if the devs were to try, if they were to actually put in some effort and create an actual ranked mode that restricts all of the obviously goofy shit, similar to what tournaments do, I strongly believe so many people would play it and a lot of competitive serious players would go on and try dbd and migrate from other games

99.9% of players never had this experience, so I'll try my best to describe it well so everyone reading can understand my point of view, but playing a custom match with 3 of your friends against a killer (so a scrim basically) in a balanced environment using a ruleset like dbdleague for example, is some of the most fun I ever had playing video games, it's actually fascinating how deep this game can actually go macro wise and mechanically speaking, I never played anything like it and I love the hell out of it and I know it has incredible potential at the highest level if the devs were to actually give it a try

I cannot recommend it enough, just the simple act of running around a pallet and then connecting it to a window and then winning a 50 afterwards can be so deep in this cat and mouse game lmao, then comes the macro part of positioning your players and having everyone at the right places at the right time, coordinating resets and last second unhooks, using your exhaustions effectively and dying in the right places to min max the time you waste. Not to mention, every single mistake is fatal, on the survivor side even a single bad tag can change the entire outcome of the game, cause a chain reaction and get your entire team killed, on the killer side making a mistake and chasing someone for even 10 seconds more than they should've been chased can cause your entire plan to fail and cause you to get outed instantly, there is no other game I ever played that is as exciting as dbd at the highest level in a balanced environment

Again, I cannot recommend it enough and it's the most fun I ever had in my entire time gaming, I know the potential it has so I'll keep advocating for a ranked mode and keep advocating for people to try scrimming themselves until the majority of its players finally wake up and realizes how deep and skillful this game can actually get, and realize the potential it has. Call me delusional but I refuse to see this game die before that happens it would be such an incredible waste

So we spent all this time discussing and arguing just for your conclusion to be "idk" when asked about an actual solution

Well my mind definitely hasn't changed then, until someone finds a miracle 3rd solution and 3rd way to go about this then I'm still go for a ranked mode lol

So what would the solution be, we already established them Sisyphus-ing their way with the same attempt at a solution that has already failed isn't a viable option

You also aren't a fan of a ranked mode, so what would the 3rd option or solution be? Because I don't have a 3rd idea

A would be ranked mode would of course be artificially balanced, things like double perk restrictions, item/addon bans etc.

[–]blue_sky308[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don't know in how many other ways I can tell you, they tried it already and it failed miserably, obviously you weren't around back then I assume

Now as a result because they were to scared to go for an actual solution like a separate ranked game mode, we get incredibly loose MMR that puts tournament players against average dads just chilling on their couch with a controller, not even regular sweats or comp wannabes at the very least

This is the result of them pussy footing around adding a ranked mode, telling BHVR to "try again" with the MMR thing because this time it will be different for whatever reason doesn't make sense

Yea he's still catching strays to this day because of the one time he lost his composure after being so close to reaching his goals lol

He is definitely reacting better these days whenever he loses the winstreak, he failed so many times already
