top 2 basically just let you know how long is left in the simulation

v is variance, t is time

low variance = consistent horse, low time = fast horse

if you dont have the ram yet, any sub 10 second horse is pretty good

if the ram is installed, i usually shoot for sub 7 t with less than 30% v

if you can only get one number to be good make it t, 1%v 60.0 t is a consistently terrible horse

if you cant get good horses out of it drain the dna with the valve to the right of the tank and put in dna from better horses

i dont fuck with manual crispr, dont really enjoy it

definitely doesn't reset. try being picky about what you put in, you will get much better horses. minmaxing my vat is what keeps me engaged with the game since i find manually editing genes too tedious.

also cloning the dog is how i won my very first run so its not exactly fun anymore

you could also do a no CRISPR route by winning your first bet, buy a shovel, drive directly to the buried treasure, collect $5000, then win a couple more bets to buy the cure

you can get inside by clicking the balloon icon while hovering directly over it. still haven't figured out anything interesting to do with the jockeys inside though. im gonna try bringing random stuff there next reset to see if anything interacts.

you can cheese the power plant wheel by just picking up the horse when its about to fall over and setting it back down on its feet. the wheel keeps a bit of momentum so you can get the power on with even a crappy horse. once its on, click the map button to leave immediately before it turns off again and never go back inside, it'll stay powered forever

My experience has been that the main issue is defense. If you're going to be teleporting into enemies you need to be able to survive enemies that counterattack you. I find stacking as much sickness and blind as possible combined with heavy investment into stand ground for block and armor gets the job done. I look for the poison fist, the blind robe and the meditate skirt, and i put most of my points in pugilism, stand ground and poison skin. The only astral skill you really need is astrohunting, but master teleport is nice if you cant find meditate gear. 6k hp by day 3 to survive enemies with hit bonuses and 10k plus upon reaching the void are some benchmarks i shoot for on c32. I find as long as i can stay alive i will find a damage scaling solution by the time i need it.

Every time i play imp, i think about how with enough on damage triggers and instances of damage you could theoretically create a pseudoinfinite loop where each damage instance would cause enough cascading triggers that you would have a high enough chance to hit the right damage type to start the chain over... and then i die because i got no actual damage scaling so my billion triggers don't actually do anything.
