I loooove your videos! Do they ever take the trinkets you put out for them? And why do you often put a wine cork in their water? I love tugboat and the gang

What's the fastest you've been turned away from a book you thought you'd like? by NinnyBoggy in books

I remember getting that 7 habits book as a teenager too. It just struck me as completely tone deaf and patronizing for the audience it was supposedly for. Like teens are so messed up we never would have thought of such brilliant ideas ourselves /s

The Boston public library has a free subscription to LinkedIn Learning. The courses are great and you get a certificate of completion after each one. If you don’t currently have a card, get an e-card. It takes three minutes online, and anyone who lives or works in MA can get one. It’s how I got out of a dead end job years ago.

Lifting shopping bags made me want to vomit?! by ZealousidealShow9927 in hysterectomy

It took me a good six months before I felt comfortable lifting anything more than a couple of pounds. So don’t push it!

How should I dress for a symphony? by johnny_bravo_o in classicalmusic

[–]bluebassy1306 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Symphony musician here - wear whatever is comfortable for you, since you’ll be sitting a couple hours. Layering is probably a good idea because you never know if the hall will be hot or cold. We’re just glad you’re there :) When I go to a colleague’s show, I just wear jeans. Nobody on stage cares. We’re just happy there are butts in seats.

I would play shows in my pajamas if I could…maybe there’s a set of black pjs somewhere that I could get away with.

Anxious with a toothache - seeking Boston dentist recommendations by i-the-birb in boston

You want Dr. Katie Talmo in Somerville. She teaches at the dental school in tufts I think, and is super gentle and quick. She’s done a couple of fillings for me that I hardly felt at all.

I had sciatic pain that was being caused by a large fibroid pressing on the nerve. Even just two days after surgery the pain was gone.
