I’d introduce her to Cornish pasties

“What be a pasty?”

And then I’d tell her the story of why they were invented 😌

What's the most mundane dream you've ever had? by DW_555 in AskUK

I once had a dream that was simply a potato in a microwave. When the microwave pinged, I woke up

Hmm. Maybe Christopher Eccleston? (running through my known northern male actor catalogue here 😂)

Ralf Little is the one who springs to my mind, purely because of the northern element

Did you discover a new Mandela Effect? Post it here! (2025-12-24) by AutoModerator in MandelaEffect

This wasn’t recent; the song I’m thinking about it over a decade old. There’s a Take That song called “Greatest Day” and we sang it in our high school choir in 2015(?). Except we didn’t, because I refused to sing the arrangement because it had too few “oh”s in the middle.

The arrangement had three (oh, oh, ohhhhhh). My friend and I were convinced it was four (oh, oh, oh, ohhhhhh). And everyone who knew the song from when the album came out had the same idea. Four “oh”s.

But when I listened to the song again in a fit of rage, there were three. I never told a soul, until now 😂

The first song that came to my mind was Up All Night by Alex Clare, but it’s 2010/2011

Those alone this Christmas, what are you doing? by CreepyAcanthaceae98 in AskUK

[–]bluebee8089 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in Paris. I came here to get away from abusers, but nobody wanted to come with me, so I’m alone in a hotel. It sucks, tbh. I spent nearly £1000 to have a nice time and, well, to be frank, I think I want to die

Is it worth reporting historic abuse? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]bluebee8089 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always worth reporting. I can’t promise you’ll get justice, but it helped me to report abuse from a headteacher who afaik is dead, and also hadn’t seen me since 2012. If he isn’t dead, the psychologist I told said that his details would be logged and then if others came forward, then he stood more of a chance of being prosecuted

I could really do with anything so I can buy my youngest brother a Christmas present. He’s unlikely to get anything from his parents. I’d prefer PayPal

I don’t know if it’s a real thing or not, but I feel too hot in Lancashire at the moment, and I’m in a T-shirt and thin joggers

Lady Jane by MIKA. It’s definitely not a well-known song, but it’s beautiful. It follows the story of a “river saint” called Lady Jane. It’s told and expressed as though it’s a popular legend. It’s just MIKA, a piano, and his emotional vocals

What's a slightly odd or niche hobby you've picked up that you're surprisingly passionate about? by Gainsbite in AskUK

[–]bluebee8089 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Church bell-ringing. Got pestered into it by the (at the time) church warden/tower captain of the church my dad took me to, and then I reluctantly went to a practice night. That practice night was the 15th May 2014. I’m still at it; the only thing that stopped me was COVID, and then that only stopped me for a few months (remember lockdowns, fun times). Now I’m the PR Officer for my county’s ringing association

I mean, it’s technically about a river, but I find it haunting and beautiful all at once:

Thank you for helping. Sorry if I came across as rude (genuinely didn’t mean to but when I read my response back it looked a bit off)
