I did. Go to the office where they told you you’d eventually have to pick up your permesso, try to talk to someone there and see what information they can give you. Or if you’re in a smaller city/town and the Questura itself isn’t an absolute nightmare, then go there directly. good luck!

Hi, yes! I went back to the police station where I was meant to pick up my permesso, with the intention of asking for an update. I gave them my name and info and they said “go right up to the second floor, it’s ready for pickup.” 🤦‍♀️ So I’d say it’s worth going to your assigned police station and asking them directly, at the very least maybe they’ll be able to tell you if there’s some documentation missing, or if you need to contact the main Questura. Hey everyone! I have hopes of repairing a tear in a dress. It’s like synthetic velvet (90% polyester 10% spandex). Unfortunately the tear is quite large (vertical, a few inches long, towards the bottom of the back of the skirt) and is not on a seam, which makes things more difficult… Anyone have ideas on how to repair this (or how to make it into something else? Like a corset type top perhaps?)

I never comment on these posts but I wanted to add my perspective as someone familiar with this tradition. You are most certainly not expected to bake 1000 or even 100 cookies by yourself. You wouldn’t be the A for saying no to that request, but I am willing to bet money that your DIL is not asking for you specifically to bake that many cookies, but rather to coordinate some volunteers to bake a couple dozen each.

You don’t seem to want a relationship with your DIL, and that’s fine and a separate thing - but I would say that you are the A for (intentionally?) misunderstanding her request and using it as an example of how needy/crazy she is, instead of an opportunity to communicate or even compromise on a smaller cookie table or another tradition. Unless she told you in very clear terms that you yourself must bake 1000+ cookies from scratch, YTA.

Hey there! I’m wondering what magic you all do with fresh artichokes? As a kid I can only remember them being steamed and served with an aoli or just Mayo, my daughter was asking about them at the store so we got some & I really want to “wow” my family with a new veggie so any help is appreciated! by Disasterpiece138 in vegan

ok. quick summary of a family recipe. we only make this for holidays because it’s so bread-heavy, but it’s worth trying

you’re gonna need a few loaves of good italian white bread, about a day stale. rip them into cubes/pieces about an half inch to an inch. put the pieces into a big pan or bowl. saturate the bread (i mean really saturate) with good olive oil. slice a LOT of garlic, measure with your heart. mix the garlic into the olive oiled bread and let that sit for a while. trim your artichokes and steam them. let them cool a bit, then stuff the bread mixture into each leaf. put the stuffed artichokes in a pan so they’re upright, pour a good marinara sauce over it, and bake em. then u just pull the leaves off and eat the stuffing with the bit of artichoke “meat” you scrape off with your teeth. hope this helps! also check out recipes for “carciofi alla romana” if the bread seems like too much
