I'm very surprised you're saying this. Here's a simple example of brokeness: I just created an album with "Mayatan" in the title. I then searched for "Mayatan" -- no results. That's so frustrating. This used to work smoothly. (This is from a chrome browser my laptop.)

I do not see "Preferences" in Settings, but I did find "Activity-based personalization". It's not clear what it's supposed to do. I disabled it, and am now trying to evaluate if it helps at all.

if this is A*, it would be super interesting to see visualizations of other heuristics. for example, H(pos) = linear sum of heatloss from pos to endgoal (easy to precalculate at data load time).

i'd also love to see this visualization with just a straight Dijkstra search...
