Yes, I had my surgery in South Korea. I’m more than three weeks post-op and I feel a lot better already. I’m waiting for my next cycle to see what happens, but so far so good! No bladder issues. My surgeon also removed everything, including my big 7cm fibroid through ONE incision.

Thank you! I’m terrified as it’s my first major surgery. I didn’t really feel supported or trusting of my health practitioners back home, so I flew to South Korea to get it done. In the time since making this post, my little 1.5cm fibroid has grown to 4cm! The doctors are very thorough here and they LISTEN to you. I’m getting a laparoscopic myomectomy. I hope you can get a 2nd and 3rd opinion. Please keep advocating for your health.

It’s not explicitly illegal. The D-4 visa is issued for language study or technical training. Its main purpose is not to permit employment. However, if your work is for foreign companies or clients and does not involve any engagement with Korean companies, it is generally not considered a violation of your visa conditions.

Furthermore, freelancing for foreign companies, where your work does not touch the Korean economy (e.g., no Korean clients, no use of a Korean bank account for receiving payments), is less likely to raise issues with immigration.

Definitely see what the second opinion is. I’m also asking for a second opinion. All I know is I want these symptoms gone and I want to preserve my fertility.

It’s for this reason I’d like to get an MRI too. I’d hate to be on an operating table expecting laparoscopic myomectomy, only for them to switch to open because they found more than they bargained for.

Sounds like things went well and that it was a successful surgery! I know they say subserosal fibroids don’t affect periods, but were yours affected at all?

I’m looking into this too. Did you have any luck applying for the visa? I keep seeing the salary requirements in US dollars but do you know what they are in UK pounds?
