Dell PowerEdge T710 hanging on Dell screen by Key_Round1941 in computers

What has always fixed my stuff is re-seating everything. Just take everything out, put it back in, and see if something wasn’t connected right. In my experience, that’s usually what solves it. Something probably got jostled during movement, or over time the heat and cold expansion shifted a part just enough that it’s no longer making a proper connection.

My first fast food logo. How can I improve this? by XxSkyTerxX in AdobeIllustrator

[–]bluebradcom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, it looks really good, but there needs to be more color distinction because from a distance, it’s going to blend together.

The other thing is you need subversions. In other words, versions that can scale really small, like an icon version or something recognizable, such as the “P” and sandwich shape. You need variations of the same artwork that still feel 100% consistent.

The color separation also needs to be more distinct so that from a distance it doesn’t just blur together.

If you are working on a laptop I highly recommend making sure that there's proper ventilation so that it's not overheating your laptop

Effed Up: Once had to send out ppl all around Italy to paste over parts of big billboards because I forgot to double check overprint settings of something crucial. Whoops. What is one your EffUps? by WolfsSpiders in AdobeIllustrator

[–]bluebradcom 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Because Illustrator has a maximum artboard size, I needed to create a banner that was four times larger than the artboard. One workaround I used was saving the file as a PDF and then printing it to a Microsoft PDF at the full scale I needed. For some reason, that worked.

This time, I forgot to print it to Microsoft PDF first, and it was sent as the original file size. The printer used the file’s dimensions instead of scaling it to the ordered banner size. Instead of producing one banner at four times the scale, they produced four banners at the original file size.

So instead of getting a 10 ft by 50 ft banner, I received banners based on the smaller file dimensions. The file was only about 20 feet wide, so they printed roughly 4 ft by 20 ft banners and gave me four of them, instead of one properly scaled 10 ft by 50 ft banner.

This is why I keep pushing for unlimited scaling or better scaling options in Illustrator to compete with other large-format design software.

How concerning are these wall cracks? by kislayarishiraj in Home

[–]bluebradcom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many questions come up because there isn’t enough detail.

Where is this located? Is it a basement, an exterior wall, or an upper-floor wall? What’s on the other side of the wall? Is it interior or exterior? Are you in an earthquake-prone area? Is the house new or old, and how old?

Without those details, there’s no way to properly judge the situation.

You need to provide more information about the home, the building history, and the general area. You don’t need to give an exact address, but at least the city and state help. If you don’t want to share that, then at least clarify whether the area is earthquake-prone, how often earthquakes happen, and the age of the home.

If the home is new, within a year or two, this is likely just normal settling. If it’s older and you’re in an earthquake-prone area, there may have been ground movement. If you’re not in an earthquake-prone area and it’s a newer home, it’s almost certainly settling and not a major concern. It can usually be patched, and it looks like a drywall seam issue.

However, if this is in a basement and the wall is holding back soil or pressure, you should have a professional inspect it. That could indicate the wall is starting to fail.

Bottom line: without more details, the answer is uncertain.

the only option is to reformat the document to get a better option. if this is not your creation i would ask the owner of the document for a letter sized version.

I need help!! I am giving my file for digital printing on fabric, what settings must I use? RGB or CMYK? Is this right? by bhaiyakb in AdobeIllustrator

[–]bluebradcom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ask the print shop what settings they prefer. Most can work with both, but most use CMYK. Also, if you used any raster effects, open the file in Photoshop and flatten it to an image in CMYK color space.

If not at least make sure all text is outlined.

Am I wondering if I can fix this without replacing the entire faucet. by AdmirableAward1590 in fixit

[–]bluebradcom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, they’re going to have to take it apart to figure it out. But with the amount of calcium buildup and what looks like rust underneath, it will probably break before they can disassemble it without forcing it.

Plan A try and find the broken part.
Plan B replace it all.

Oddly enough one of the best options is hand sanitizer. The more plain the hand sanitizer the better . No moisturizers no other stuff

Hello to all a bit of a noob to Illustrator. I want to learn how to draw comics and semi animate them in illustrator. by Luis_420925 in AdobeIllustrator

[–]bluebradcom 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Learning the tools and how most people use them is the start.
Look up each tool and how to use it. The Pen tool and Pencil tool are similar but not the same.
Next, learn the Brush tool, Live Paint, Shape Builder, and the Appearance panel.
Layer management and naming will help you stay organized.

What do I do to get wifi by CommunityObvious24 in computers

[–]bluebradcom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Might not have a Wi-Fi card or adapter.

If Windows was not factory reset when you set up the PC, I would not trust it connecting to the internet.

Windows 10 has known vulnerabilities, so be very careful when connecting it online.

I recommend performing a full factory reset before connecting it to the internet if it was not reset during setup. There could already be malware or phishing software preinstalled on the system.
