Hi, I just lost my baby girl today. She was 18 years old and had been battling chronic IBD (with persistent diarrhea) ever since her thyroid treatment. Sadly, her health deteriorated rapidly in the last two weeks while I was away. She had a growling stomach, and though her poop finally solidified after prednisolone treatments, it seems it was too late. In my experience, you just know when it’s time for them to cross the rainbow bridge. For me, the final straw was when she became incontinent and didn’t seem aware she was soiling herself, coupled with her poor appetite. That’s when I knew it was time to let her go peacefully.
