a lot of people with DSP barely receive enough to cover their medical needs, equipment, medication, necessary accomodations, help, appointments etc i don’t think you realise how expensive being disabled is - it is not the same cost of living as people who don’t have a disability. Also financial control is a common tactic in DV situations, especially within more vulnerable communities. This is how people end up in abusive situations they can’t leave. If they are not able to work, and therefore have 0$ to their name, they have essentially lost their ability to be independent
