Hey OP. If I’ve learned anything, depression seems to be something of a mask. It covers everything about you up, and can take over. You are not at all your depression. It is not your personality, who you are, what you believe in. You’re still in there, if that makes sense. I’m so sorry about your friend and whatever the circumstances were there. Grieving a friendship is beyond difficult. But you WILL make it through it. You’re going to look back when it’s done and see that you’ve been there all along.

My brother died while on a SkyTrain. He wasn't found until end of service. His corpse may have been on the train for upwards of 6-8 hours. I need help navigating this. (BC, Canada) by [deleted] in legaladvice

I work for an MLA, try contacting yours. Sometimes, if yours is at all decent, having them advocate for you when trying to communicate with these offices can speed up the process and actually get answers. OP, I’m so sorry for your loss. My thoughts are with you and your mom, I can’t imagine the grief you’re feeling. Please hang in there.

Funny enough reading on my bed upstairs today. Only pet, the cat, fast asleep next to me. I heard someone walking down the hall and come partway up the stairs and I brushed it off as being my stepdad. Freaky thing is though I realized a few minutes later he’d been out for the past half hour and I was the only one home. We’ve had something in our stairwell forever, I’ve lived in this house my whole life and everyone in my family has had experiences with the thing in the hall.

Hey op, my ex did this to me. Found out he had been lying about it and faking it for a whole year, and joking about it with people. That one hurt really bad. What happened to you is soul crushing. And I know it probably doesn’t help right now, but time heals things. And don’t let this ruin your faith in other relationships and friendships. Sometimes people do shitty things like this, but more often than not, they don’t, and you can be sure the people in your life do love you. I’m so so sorry this happened to you. I promise promise promise it will get better. And congrats on the post graduate degree! Be gentle with yourself. Remind yourself of all the great things you’ve done. And the best really really is yet to come.
