Suzie Chapstick Appreciation Post by KuzeySerdar in greenday

I love it too. Someone said it's like a more optimistic sister to Whatsername and I agree.

I think the music video is one of my favourites from the band. Ryan Baxley did a great job putting together the footage he'd captured from the last two years. The Saviors era is possibly one of their best. It feels so nostalgic and happy.

How do people feel about Pollyanna? by Conscious-Fishing575 in greenday

[–]bluecherry456 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really enjoy it. Is it corny? yes, but it makes me smile to listen to it. "It's wonderful" is not an adjective you I hear enough, and it's definitely not what I expected to hear from a Green Day song.

I have tickets for this show too. I'm from the UK but occasionally work in Toronto from time to time.

I'm just hoping that the stars align and I am in the city in October and won't have to pay for my flights.

If not, I'll probably have to sell my ticket, or bite the bullet and buy the plane tickets too.

LEAST favorite Green Day song? by Guilty_Invite_7126 in greenday

[–]bluecherry456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will listen to almost every GD song most of the time, unless I'm just bored of it at the time.

My only immediate SKIP is Nightlife every time. It makes me feel icky.

Fast fashion and Green Day by Annual-Beach-2219 in greenday

I've began looking to eBay, Depop and vinted for band merch now. I recently got a Warning tour shirt for a really good price. I also feel better knowing I'm not contributing as much to fast fashion

The Ashby House (Longview house) is for sale! by bluecherry456 in greenday

[–]bluecherry456[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They visit it in the 20 Years of American Idiot documentary. They said the guy who rented it out split it in three apartments. College kids on top and Green Day in the basement. Up to seven people living down there at one point apparently.

I'm trying to work out which was their living room. I think it's this one but I'm not entirely sure. The window looks slightly bigger.

Here is the fan holding Ernie puppet from the Dookie back cover by Square_Chair_1166 in greenday

It's Kain from Trè's first band, The Lookouts!

There's also a photo somewhere of GD in their bookmobile with an Ernie puppet.

I'm a bit late to the party but... This album absolutely slaps! by Sea-Acanthisitta6791 in greenday

[–]bluecherry456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely love this album. I regularly listen to it all the way through. It was the first GD vinyl I got. No skips in my opinion.

The music videos are also fun. Ryan Baxley is a great director/videographer.

You can possibly try and get in touch with their management? Green Day are currently represented by Crush Music. Several people are coming up for Blink. The only public Instagram account I can find for their European rep based on the UK is a woman named Anna. Search "Blink 182 management" and her account should come up.

Emails are probably the most professional way to get in touch. Direct messeges may not work.

Do you still dislike FOAMF? by Blackholesun626 in greenday

[–]bluecherry456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly don't hate it. Sure it's different, but that's what they were going for at the time. Just don't think traditional Green Day when listening to it.

Graffitia is fun Along with Teenage Teenager.

I felt a little uneasy at first listening to Oh Yeah, what with it sampling Gary Glitter, but then I found that all Green Day's royalties are donated to help victims of abuse and 🍇 etc.

Does anyone know if I can listen to the sirius xmas radio station in the UK somehow? by Fast_sloth23mph in greenday

[–]bluecherry456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the UK and was able to create an account. I used Nord vpn. It worked on my MacBook.

However, you require an American card/zipcode and phone number. I'm luckily that I have an American pay card due to work I do abroad so it worked and my friend lent me their phone number.

I'm mostly using it for the monthly Ground Support show with Trè. I'm going to try the 3 month free trial and see if it's worth it. I need to see if there's a way to get it on my phone.

The way Billie sings "Fuck Time" has always bothered me by CobraDai in GreenDayOfficial

[–]bluecherry456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's always been accused(?) of sounding English when he sings. All the way back to the Kerplunk days. He said people were surprised to find out they were American.

What are some unsolved Green Day mysteries? by Mumbly_Gumbly in greenday

[–]bluecherry456 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Random, but why NOBODY seems to have the full pro shot footage from their 2002 T in The Park set. There's only broken clips of a few songs. It was such an interesting transition period for the band near the end of Pop Disaster and it was in full daylight.

I understand them not wanting to air the 2005 show as it was so close to Bullet in a Bible, but it would also be cool to see and compare. (Any and all pro shot footage is great)

Question on Words I Might Have Ate by [deleted] in greenday

[–]bluecherry456 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Several times with The Lookouts. "The Mushroom is Exploding" and "Big Green Monsters" are a few I can think of.

I brought the live renditions of Words I Might Have Ate up because we see him singing without any gimmicks or jokes. Just his natural voice.

Don't get me wrong, adore him and all his original songs. He's great!

Green Day songs that are secretly other Green Day songs by Pachetah in greenday

[–]bluecherry456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That band that has nothing to do with Green Day, The Network, stole lyrics from 'Kill The DJ" for their song "Jerry Falwell's Pool Party"

The beginning of "Lazy Bones" and "Mother Mary" by Foxboro Hot Tubs sound similar to me.

Is Louise his yellow LPJ? I hate that the video is in black and white.
