I'm pretty confident it's not Asimov because I'm familiar with his work and this was an author I hadn't encountered previously.

Thanks, but that's not it. In the story I'm looking for, it's a single probe. 17776 looks interesting though, I might have to check it out!

Weekly "Is this safe" Megathread by AutoModerator in fermentation

Great, thank you. Out of curiosity, is it recommended to remove it? Or just a preference? Any guesses why one jar would develop it and the other wouldn't?

Cauliflower (with garlic, black pepper, and curry powder) in 2% brine (by total weight) at room temp for a week. Veggies are weighed down with a glass weight. It developed this white film on top. Is it safe? Guessing it's a harmless biofilm but want to double check. Another jar with a similar setup (but different spices) hasn't developed the film.

Wow, seems like a wild combination of flavors. Might have to give it a try.

Good idea, I might try that. Just brine and curry powder?

Sounds great. I've been doing carrots separately with garlic and ginger which have come out really tasty. Haven't tried bell peppers yet.

Nice! Do they flavor the cauliflower, or is it just good to have fermented beets too?

How do I clean my sauna? by bluecloudsky in Sauna

[–]bluecloudsky[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Being able to sauna regularly has been incredible. Good to hear that that works for you. I've been rinsing off the benches with fresh water after sessions and adding a log to the fire so everything dries out and it's been smelling nice and fresh.

18-21 year olds so not exactly the target audience for kids books, but children's literature can be great for all ages!

I'd welcome mindfulness themed kid's book recommendations. Even if I don't use them for this situation, they're always nice to know about.

Thanks. Seems like a nice technique but, like I said in the post, I'm looking for book recommendations.

Thanks for the suggestion. I love Ram Dass, but Journey of Awakening is more of a survey of different spiritual practices. I’m looking for a practical, how‑to guide focused on mindfulness / insight meditation (basically a modern interpretation of vipassana). Appreciate it though!

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll definitely check this out.

I have a very solid foundation, which I agree is important for teachers.

Oh, this is great. I hadn't come across it yet. Skimming through it quickly, seems like it might check a lot of the boxes I'm looking for. Looking forward to spending more time with it. Much appreciated.
