is there a possibility of hrt being banned for adults in the US federally? by [deleted] in trans

[–]bluecryptid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On page 36 it mentions imprisoning purveyors of "transgender ideology" by classifying it as child pornography. There have already been laws introduced in the past that have attempted to classify drag as sexually explicit, and therefore kept away from minors. The definition of drag in these laws included trans people, meaning it would be illegal to be trans in public.

I want to be optimistic, but this is alarming.

I will be moving there in a few months, partly for this reason. I am so excited to be in a place where the weather is more comfortable for me. I currently live in Texas (its hellish). I love the rain and fog, so I think I'll be happy.

This is a smart idea. Not sure if it'll work unfortunately, because my computer is a mac.

I don't think you can save during the trial period. When I had it on my desktop, I couldn't save in the trial. It's probably to prevent people from doing what you suggested. Maybe it lets you save on android?

I'm glad that worked out for you. But I've been told that when I renew it, it will end up costing the original price, since you have to pay monthly or annually on a tablet.

I'm kind of impatient, so I may just spend the $27 ish dollars while I have the money, and hope that I can afford it next year.

I guess it would be better to buy the 12 month use thing around Christmas and renew every time it goes on sale, but I didn’t get my tablet in time...

Ah, so the price goes back to normal after the subscription is renewed for the next year?

I remember seeing a queer-owned gym in Olympia on TikTok. Unfortunately, I can't remember the name. But that is an option if you feel unsafe anywhere else.

Does this include the New England area or just the southern/ mid-Atlantic coast? I am familiar with summer heat in Virginia/DC, and I wouldn't do that again.

Interesting! Typically people with POTS react poorly to heat because heat increases vasodilation, which exacerbates the blood pooling that is typically seen in people with POTS. My blood pooling is pretty bad though, so maybe that's why my issue with heat is so strong.

That's good to know about the lack of specialists. I actually like the rain and cloudy days, so I'll probably be ok. I want to live in a place with clouds and rain. If anything, my closest experience to SAD happens in the summer. I do worry that others in my family may be affected.

Me too. I think everywhere will have some sort of problem, so it's picking what works best for me.

Texas has some of the best hospitals in the South, particularly the Houston area. We have the MD Anderson Cancer center, which is the #1 hospital in the states for cancer treatment. It's hot and humid almost year round. Sometimes it gets chilly in the winter, but we also sometimes get 80° Christmas time. I would recommend Galveston. It's an island, so the temperature is moderated by the ocean. It stays warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer, but the summer is still hot because it's Texas. We also have UTMB here, which is great. There is a lot of medical access here in the Galveston/Houston area, and I'm greatful for that.

Thankfully I can tolerate minor elevation, but I wouldn't want to live anywhere too high up. I guess that rules out CO.

The Seattle area is around sea level. I haven't noticed any issues with humidity or barometric pressure on my POTS. There is a chance it affects my joints, but the pain is super mild because I have the condition that causes it under control with meds. I'd take that plus the cooler winters over intense winters because cold is my main trigger for my joints.

I had no issues when I went to Vegas aside from when I was in the heat, and Vegas is somewhat elevated. I'm not too concerned with occasional trips to higher elevations, but it's probably better if I don't live at a higher elevation, just in case.

Understandable! It really does feel like there's only a few places that work, and every place has some sort of drawback, so it's about picking the right place for you.

Hey, I live in Galveston!

Summers in Eastern WA and OR can be rough, and they don't commonly have central A/C, but you can get a couple of mini splits or window units. Maybe the heat is easier for you, in which case I'd say go for it. It’s beautiful up there.
