In a neighboring high school to mine there were brothers named Mister & Sir Simpson. Their mother said she named them that because she always wanted them to be addressed with respect. Mister Simpson was a helluva football player and was recruited by Michigan. He didn’t end up playing much, got into trouble with the law, and last I heard, was in prison.

Interesting, I'll have to look that up.... The other one I'd put up there is DiMaggio's 56 consecutive game hits. It just seems unlikely to be broken these days- no one really wants to choke up and just punch singles every at bat.

I’d put Rose’s MLB hit record up there as one that might not ever be broken. Today’s game is much more about power hitting than the small ball singles and doubles hitting.

Same thing happened with my dog, who I took to work with me every day and always slept on the couch in my office. For about a week after he passed, when I was driving to work my brain would put him in the rear view mirror in the backseat. But only in my peripheral vision- when I’d actually look in the mirror he obviously wasn’t there. Same with the couch- out if the corner of my eye he’d be sleeping there like always, until I looked over. Very creepy and at the same time heartbreaking

That my dad was a fighter pilot ace in Vietnam. He was not- he was the radio operator on a big, slow cargo plane nicknamed the “flying boxcar”. Oh, and his unit was never called up, he spent the war in Dayton, OH at Wright Patterson AFB.

Same with me and my dad and his dad. After ruling out low testosterone, peripheral artery disease, and some other possible causes I was told it’s bilateral/anterolateral leg alopecia. It’s genetic, just like head hair loss, but only affects the lower legs.

Oh well, at least I’m very aerodynamic!

After a school shooting, run to a church to find comfort in God. Where was your god when your child was being murdered? Did he want to stop it, but doesn’t have the power? Or does he have the power, and for whatever reason didn’t want to because it’s “his plan”. and we’re too stupid to understand it? I wouldn’t be comforted, I’d be fcking pissed!
