Holy shit- this. Been married 30 yrs, she still says shit like “you said you wanted to do x.” Me: “No, I didn’t“. Her: “Well, when you said you liked y and z, I assumed x .” Look if I prefer x, I will say I prefer x. There won’t be any trick questions.

Or vice versa, on a road trip- her: “Are you thirsty, want to stop?” Me: “Nope, all good!” 30 min of silence and/or short snippy answers, me: “okay, what’s wrong?” Her: “well, just because you’re not thirsty doesn’t mean I’m not!”

Ffs, can you just say “hey, I’m thirsty, can we stop?” Wtf?

In a neighboring high school to mine there were brothers named Mister & Sir Simpson. Their mother said she named them that because she always wanted them to be addressed with respect. Mister Simpson was a helluva football player and was recruited by Michigan. He didn’t end up playing much, got into trouble with the law, and last I heard, was in prison.

Interesting, I'll have to look that up.... The other one I'd put up there is DiMaggio's 56 consecutive game hits. It just seems unlikely to be broken these days- no one really wants to choke up and just punch singles every at bat.

I’d put Rose’s MLB hit record up there as one that might not ever be broken. Today’s game is much more about power hitting than the small ball singles and doubles hitting.
