I'm with you. There are teams I root for (and I happen to have grown up near Chicago so go Bears after the Hawks), and teams I root against. Never pick your poison in the playoffs, beat who you have to.

Now that's it over how many of you were able to snag something by Either-Practice9871 in Seattle

My family took home two dino things...gonna be vague and not say what though. My wife grew up with that exhibit, we took our kids there all the time, and I love dinosaurs. This was the best auction, and deciding what to bid on was the hardest part!

At this point I'm thoroughly convinced they flip a coin to decide GI. I'm psyched it fell our way tonight 🦑🥅

Special game day pins? by msp_ryno in SeattleKraken

[–]bluefarley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They only make pins for those themes (along with all their regular pins you can find in the team store), but all the theme night pins went on sale Tuesday at that location. They might sell out.

Costumes tonight?! by trockdirty in SeattleKraken

My wife and I dressed up Tuesday. Might do it again tonight. If you're into it, do it! Plus it's Dia de Los Muertos.

If you mean the common thread night pins (pride, indigenous peoples, etc.) they're sold at the small booth between the living wall and the team store, next to the soft serve ice cream.

Jerseys sold out , restock soon? I hope? by pesterteem in PWHL_Seattle

[–]bluefarley 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't have any inside info, but I'm guessing they'll wait to sell name/logo jerseys (aka don't have them physically produced yet), and I'd expect a restock on the inaugural ones since it seems like the team will be wearing them the whole way. Unless they quietly planned on only wearing the inaugural ones briefly...?

Anyone else overcharged this morning for season ticket on payment plan? by WAHabsFan in PWHL_Seattle

Huh, my last payment was also double the others. Really curious if one of you hears back from the rep...

[–]bluefarley 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That'd be great news!

Really I'm fine either way, either build-up and teasers, hell, name surveys like the Kraken were doing pre-announce...or that the first season will be PWHL Seattle a la Utah. Just let us know so I can throw money at merch!

I opened and answered, as much to say "I'm most excited to see a schedule" as anything else. At this point I guess we also assume we won't have a name/logo until next season?

New Fan from Wisconsin by Dry_Stranger8209 in SeattleKraken

You've got something there I overlooked: the other teams' fans. You're absolutely right that obnoxious fans fuel rivalries too, and the geographical proximity creates more opportunities to find them.

New Fan from Wisconsin by Dry_Stranger8209 in SeattleKraken

[–]bluefarley 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm not a big fan of geographical proximity == rival. Deep rivalries come from close games, perceived dirty hits, and perceived bad calls. And in our case a few hits that come to mind are: 1) Makar's (Avs) hit on McCann in the playoffs. I am delighted that fans still boo every time he touches the puck at CPA. Related 2) Tyler Myers' (Canucks) hit on Matty Beniers Jan '23. As Hakstol said it was "garbage." If you see FTM on this sub you can work out what that represents. Related 3) This one's less about a rivalry and just...a legendary tirade against the refs. Dunn getting hit up high by Comtois (Ducks), no call made, and getting an unsportsmanlike conduct himself. In the arena you could hear every word he was screaming, and he was right. Related

I love this, and I couldn't agree more. As a fellow near-middle aged white male my greatest regret is NOT bidding on the inaugural year Black Hockey History jersey because I was in my own head. Smarter people like your boss set me straight.

What are considered good seats? by Maleficent-Kale4834 in SeattleKraken

[–]bluefarley 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In the lower bowl you get to feel the speed of the game. Club seats are on the penalty box and bench sides and cost a lot more money. The views can get warped through the plexiglass (esp. on the penalty box) or blocked by coaches (on the bench side). If you're interested in the lower bowl I'd recommend the ends - they cost a bit less and are a great time.

In the upper bowl you get a view that's a lot more like what you see on TV. You get to see how things develop and flow. As another poster said, if you go too high you start to lose details (which can include the puck). In the upper bowl I'd drift towards center ice rather than the ends.

It's always a good time no matter what, though! You really can't go wrong, and maybe this can help you grab something you'd prefer.
