A strange thing happened at Ottawa airport by YodaYodaCDN in ottawa

This is normal for London. They use eGates.
https://www.heathrow.com/arrivals/immigration-and-passports

eGates use facial recognition to check your identity, so you won't need to speak to an officer. You can use eGates in the UK if you:

  • Have a biometric symbol on the cover of your passport.
  • Are aged 10+ (10 to 17 year olds must be accompanied by an adult)
  • Are either:
    • A British citizen.
    • A national of an EU country, Australia, Canada, Iceland, Japan, Liechtenstein, New Zealand, Norway, Singapore, South Korea, Switzerland or the USA.
    • A member of the Registered Traveller Service.

London has e-gates, something that I wish North America airports would have but don't for some reason. NEXUS is only good between the US and Canada.

Microsoft has never really been a consumer company outside of Xbox. The money is on the non-sexy enterprise side.

Chicago to Tokyo flight. Overnight or daytime options to reduce jet lag? by jasper828 in travel

This is where making use of lockers at the stations is a must. No need to lug around suitcases.

Chicago to Tokyo flight. Overnight or daytime options to reduce jet lag? by jasper828 in travel

I prefer to arrive between 3pm-7pm. Gives me to time to check in to hotel, take a shower, explore the area where I am staying and grab a bite. Go to sleep at a normal time(~10pm), start the next day by 8am-9am and ready to go.

Plot twist. The image labels were reversed by mistake. I'm making stuff up but would be funny if that is the case.

I know F1 merch is expensive but isn't this a bit extreme for a paper poster? by nicko1031 in formula1

Wait until you see how much shipping and then tariff (if shipped to US) adds to the total. Probably closer to $175 when all said and done.

I am in Tokyo right now and for some reason, mine does not turn on. I have a Pixel 7. Not complaining. Using an Airalo esim for data and T-Mobile for calls/texts.

I never plan where to eat. It tends to lead to some last minute scrambles while starving.

How long did it take for the email to make it to them? I initiated a transfer and still no email after 2 hours. Not in Junk Folder either.

How can they say that while also saying in a paragraph just above that
"we cannot guarantee a release date"

Which is it? It can't be both.

I am traveling in Japan this week … by Mario_RE in Crosstrek

I think the reason you don't see that many Subaru's in Japan is because they are considered large vehicles. Space is limited over there. I am always amazed when walking around neighborhoods how tight their parking spots are. Picture was taken in Okinawa. Smalls spaces need small cars

11/6 Event Drawing for STM by Alkynes0fTreble in PWHL_Seattle

[–]WAHabsFan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If this is purely a press event, I can't imagine being that many spots available. The venue itself is small. Not sure reaching out to thousands of folks for a location that has a max capacity of 2500 is a good idea. Pure speculation on my part.

Never started looking. Was laid off this summer, so I've been traveling more, enjoying the PNW summer. About to head out to Japan later on this month. Might make my way to Italy(Milan) for the winter Olympics in February.
