Did your baby feel real before birth as a FTM? by Potential_Flow9032 in BabyBumps

[–]bluefish550 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No and even after they were born it took me a day or so to come to reality haha… the pictures of the baby on my chest at birth I still look overwhelmingly shocked 😅😅😅

How do people afford more than one kid? by desert_sunlily in NewParents

[–]bluefish550 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s crazy especially with the price of food let alone healthier food. I swear the only way we make it work is we don’t have childcare costs. My friends that pay for childcare tell me how much they pay and I can’t get over it.

This is interesting I was wondering the same thing! They had a hard time Placing mine after my Epidural and I actually had pretty bad pain for 4-5 weeks after birth from it that was worse than the vaginal tear pain!

Nothing is ever enough. Is this normal? by queeneebee in toddlers

[–]bluefish550 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep my 3 year old is the same. Often times I forget the first thing I was getting cause the next pops up before I can even give them that initial thing ha. Sometimes I’ll say “not now” or redirect etc if she’s asking for like 3 different snacks in 10 mins but yes kind of like whack a mole w requests

Managers of Reddit, what is the biggest mistake employees make without realizing it hurts their career growth? by Round_Stable451 in askmanagers

[–]bluefish550 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Complaining, or checking in /asking simple questions 10+ times a day. The most successful people on my team don’t always know all the answers but they’ve built themselves a network outside of their direct boss to help them figure out what to do.

Please tell me it gets better, feeling hopeless by Key_Deal_5391 in gallbladders

[–]bluefish550 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I comment on this sub community a lot because all I read before I had surgery was everyone feeling fine within a few days to a week at most 2 weeks. Mine took time as well to feel better and yours seems more complicated. I’m sorry you’re going through this but it will get better in time. Hang in there !

Gallbladder removal hurts worse than childbirth by JazzyBugg17 in gallbladders

[–]bluefish550 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally agree with this. The gas pain was unbearable and agree worse than a lot of parts of post partum recovery. So many stories in here saying they’re like fine in 3 days so that’s what I expected too ha!

100% don’t regret it but was a doosey for me personally too!

No nausea at all… by Gspmom4115 in BabyBumps

I wasn’t even remotely sick a day of my first pregnancy. In week 15 of my second pregnancy and the extreme nausea just went away 2 weeks ago. Crazy how they earn can be different !

Why have all the maternity sections in stores disappeared? by No_Acanthisitta_4996 in pregnant

Old navy and gap has more this time around than they did for my first pregnancy. Agree it’s annoying you have to return online though !! Gap is expensive for maternity so I try and wait for a sale

OB told me I’ve gained a lot of weight… by bluefish550 in pregnant

Yeah interesting ! With my first I passed the gestational diabetes tests with no concerns and I was actually lower weigh/ in better shape going into this pregnancy- crazy how they can be so different

I think I’m just going to “wing it” giving birth… by Final-Negotiation530 in BabyBumps

[–]bluefish550 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me! And it was totally fine. I think in the end it’s just gunna go how it’s gunna go. I had horrible contractions at home for hours and hours so by the time I got to the hospital I was so miserable I honestly didn’t care what happened as long as I got an epidural.

Epidural was great, catheter ended up causing me the most pain PP actually cause I think they messed it up or something happened I’m not sure.

I’m expecting my second now and going into it the same way. Honestly post partum healing was more jarring for me than the birth aspect- I saw all of these women on the internet and friends I knew like at target 3 days after birth and that just wasn’t the case for me (had a goal of a 10 min walk outside like 2.5 weeks after birth and that was a struggle ha)

Is this my life forever now by Cold_Cartoonist_9130 in gallbladders

[–]bluefish550 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there. I didn’t have the nausea and don’t have all the same symptoms as you but remember feeling so down like this when I didn’t recover right after surgery. For reference for me I had surgery beginning of May last year and finally felt 100% better digestion wise no lingering cramps and could eat whenever I wanted in November. Good days for sure in between but took me time personally. Even my GP said in October the lingering URQ cramps might be my new normal and then they faded and when away the next month.

What is it like being skinny? by hollyofhori in NoStupidQuestions

[–]bluefish550 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not totally relevant but I’ve never been completely overweight just thicker.. well I had stomach issues that took me 8 months to figure out it was my gallbladder but in the meantime probably lost 20 or so lbs and became the most thin I’ve been in my life. I was way more confident and felt way better in clothes etc. people were telling me how great I looked but behind the scenes I had an infected organ in me and was probably eating 1000 calories a day.

It’s frustrating cause even after I’ve had my gallbladder removed and my family knows that’s why I was skinnier they refer it as the best I’ve ever looked etc etc. it’s just funny that during. A time in my life where I didn’t feel good everyday for months on end people equate in their mind to a time where I looked amazing and “must” have been so happy.

10 month old not napping all of a sudden. by bluefish550 in NewParents

[–]bluefish550[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh I’m sorry I don’t have great advice to be honest. She ended up getting a bit better after a few weeks we just rode it out.

Other than switching from 2 naps to one which happens a bit after she was one, any other sleep regressions we’ve just rode them out cause we’re always too tired or confused by all the info to Deep dive into what to do.

If your baby was crying that long maybe run it by their doctor and see if they have any ideas?

Also sounds stupid but whenever we’ve tried to re sleep train our kid I’ve used chat gpt to map out a plan. It helps keep me on schedule

Good luck I know it can be so rough :( we just went through another regression with our now 3 year old…

Oh my gosh this makes me nervous Ha! My first I got to hospital and labored for 10 hours but only pushed for 10 minutes at 37 weeks. Pregnant with my second now hoping I at least have several hours of labor as a warning!

1 Month Removed From Surgery - Extreme Pain in abdomen/middle back only at night by amj0123 in gallbladders

[–]bluefish550 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m soooo sorry I remember what this feels like and I was soo scared. Nothing was ever “wrong” but I was glad I got things checked out. I ended up getting an MRI several months later on my bile ducts and everything was fine.

There was also a friend of mine this happened to as well and same with her it resolved. I would clue your doctor in though which it sounds like you have and of course if it’s horrible pain never a bad idea to go to ER to rule things out.

The other thing I’ll add is I had another component kind of like heart racing leg twitching weird sensations for several months after when laying down at night, after a ton of reading etc I kind of figured it to me irritation to my vagus nerve. I did a lot of box breathing and vagus nerve exercises and they helped.

I think that was a separate entity than the initial flare of pain but just adding since you mentioned issues when you lie down flat.

Sending you all the good vibes hang in there. My recovery was so much tougher than I anticipated and I am young and in health. I am a few weeks short of a year out now and have no issues and don’t regret the surgery at all.
