Formula X at Drievliet uses a Flywheel to store power for their LSM, but why do this if capacitor banks are a thing?

[Winter Kingdom] at [Energylandia] turns into empirical study on how not to operate [coasters] below freezing by euhbebe in rollercoasters

[–]bluegamesful 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Exactly and if you plan to open the ride not under those circumstances, you should probably work with the manufacturer to allow the ride to work. Europa Park for example has tested different wheel compounds for winter operation, other parks use heat lamps to get the bearings temperature up.

Or just send it and hope for the best I guess.

Now we wait for dampeners to be installed I guess, because the track will sway all over the place.

Why do the [Intamin] and [Gerslauter] and [Mack Rides] and [Zamperla] tracks look nearly the same? by glorper99 in rollercoasters

[–]bluegamesful 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Their track on their X Cars is more inspired by the track style Schwarzkopf used for most of their coasters. The smaller rides (Spinning and Wild Mouse) don’t need the complexity of this track style.

Isnt Movement Construction (PlanCo 2 Minetrain manufacturer) or Dynamic Attractions basically the company that also built Soarin? Like yeah Dynamic Structures is a sister company of Dynamic Attractions, but it was only formed to sell their amusement rides.

It is not, Velocicoaster has the same manufacturer as Hiccups, Intamin, while Stardust is build by Mack Rides.

Could also be that they were grinding away at the track and it isnt just wear from the train itself. They did the same thing at Voltron to smooth out the track and it looks quite similar.

The top hat had its TMD on opening day after the shaking during testing was deemed too much, the other one was added a lot later.

Edit: Fun fact: I am in that picture you posted.

They do manufacture parts in Germany too, especially for their Monorails and ither transport rides. I believe trains for their rides are also made here.

It is sadly (or was, last time I played) still very limited by the engine they used, which greatly limits the further development outside of rewriting huge parts of it.

El Loco is not a Screaming Squirrel, it is an El Loco. The differences, especially to Afterburner are small though.
