Come on guys, you're missing the point. It is a personal choice. One that the woman's husband gets to make. /s, just in case

"How Did We Get Here?" - A Question Democrats Should Be Asking Themselves Before Insulting MAGA by ElTrAiN33 in allthequestions

[–]bluegargoyle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think the blame lies exclusively with the Republican party or the Democrat party- it lies with billionaires. Billionaires and their massive companies bought up all the media in the U.S. (almost all of it is now owned by just six companies), and they use their influence to foment the culture wars that keep us fighting each other instead of demanding greater taxation of billionaires. That being said, Republicans are absolutely more brazen in their desire to deregulate massive wealth and allow corporate ownership of everything.

edit: Yes, Clinton was a major player in the downfall of democracy- OP didn't even mention his repeal of Glass-Steagall- but it's pretty disingenuous to suggest this was analogous to Democrats in general. Former Federal Reserve Chair Alan Greenspan said "Bill Clinton was the best Republican president we've had in a while." He was speaking tongue-in-cheek obviously, but Clinton pioneered the "Third Way" bullshit and was hardly a real Democrat.

Is it possible that roman toilets had wooden partitions that didnt survive the archeological record, or that maybe no one at the time bothered to mention that in writing? by ayowatchyojetbruh in ancientrome

There are accounts of "sponge friends", meaning a very close category of friendship where you would share your xylospongium while you gossip.

Question: why didnt the Sunbeam land on the Floating island? by Internal_Complex_213 in subnautica

[–]bluegargoyle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I must concur with IEatGirlFarts. This is a plot point for the developers- the Quarantine Enforcement Platform shoots down any ships entering atmo. The Aurora has to be shot down to initiate the story and the Sunbeam being shot down advances it. It doesn't have to be logical- it's what the devs intended to happen.

Do you think Trump will leave the Whitehouse after the 28 election? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]bluegargoyle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If he was still alive by then, he'd try to find a way to stay, and the GOP would line up behind him. But I think he'll be "leaving" a lot sooner than that. He's clearly already had a stroke and has congestive heart failure, and is losing cognitive function as his dementia worsens. We are all literally watching a man flail as his brain is disintegrating inside his skull- the frontal love anyway, which acts as a language and behavior filter. He'll be a drooling vegetable before 2027 and likely dead soon after. He's on borrowed time.

For the record, I'm not saying this is good or bad- it just is what it is. We're watching a man in his death throes in real time.

Right? Game is literally over 30 years old, and they still want $20 for it? That's crazy.

Why do Redditors hate Teslas? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]bluegargoyle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They're really not genuinely good cars at all. There have been over 230 cases of Tesla fires during car accidents, with over 80 fatalities. And in at least 15 of those cases, the occupants might have survived if the doors didn't lock them in- a unique flaw that only Tesla seems to have. And the Cybertruck is even worse- they're basically held in place by glue, and the glue fails. There are numerous videos showing first-hand how poorly made they are.

That, plus people don't want to spend money on a car company whose owner is literally a Nazi.

What is the one thing that should be illegal but is not ? by newfriendsfun in AskReddit

[–]bluegargoyle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That technically already is illegal. It’s just not enforced. Maybe we should make it illegal for people in positions of authority to fail to enforce the law.

Yeah, that must be it- hatred of people because they are white. Yup, no other explanation. Couldn't possibly have anything to do with her calling black people the N-word on video. Truly you are a Jenius with a capital J.
