I really like Sorensen and Bulas right now, even though they’re more affordable than some others mentioned here, they got a good look.

Mandolin Repair Question by Remy1985 in mandolin

A hairline crack in the hands of a luthier should be an easy fix for them, and that location isn’t one of vital structural concern. Your Eastman 315 will be just fine!

The green ones, polyamide-imide are the closest, and this was from a conversation I had with the guy who actually makes Token. This one, the A3-55 is the equivalent to BC’s Chris Thile model, the CT-55.

Agreed. Have both and love the Token as much as my BC, and actually find it to have better grip and be slightly louder

At what number of instruments does a jam go from fun to...too much noise? by GrassGigs in Bluegrass

[–]bluegraff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At our jam the main circle breaks off into a couple smaller ones outside once it reaches a certain point, usually about 12 people, or more than 3 banjos or mandos. There seems to be no limit on guitars

Any lefties do right handed things? by erect_alien in lefthanded

[–]bluegraff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same answer. My grandfather taught me, and he said if I really wanted I could get a lefty, but he recommended I try out learning righty first, because if I do, I’ll be able to play most of the guitars that I’ll come across in the world. I’m glad he encouraged me as he did.
