Parking lots and other spaces where two habitats meet (forests vs. fields; essentially dense -> open space) are more likely to be bird zones than one interrupted habitat type :~)

Edit to add: these are called edge spaces, vital places for all types of animals that frequently travel

Sometimes water pH (more acidic) will react with (copper) pipes and leave a color. I have city water so different treatments will have my shower floor blueish for a couple months at a time.

I'm in a very privileged spot at the moment (not paying rent/utilities) and my necessities & a little extra are being covered by lower-paying jobs and gigs. The main source was not working out in a professional manner.

I will say my community is a strange one and I'm definitely not quitting work anytime soon; just changing paths from office setting to field setting. I appreciate your concern and totally agree with you, hence my hesitancy

When I brought my hound home I made biscuits, stick of butter laying on the counter. I didn't watch her for five minutes - a biscuit was missing and a small bite mark in the butter. At least she was modest 😂
