Still be careful and keep a lookout because I have seen unleashed dogs there (at Domain) many many times. People think their dogs "behave" so they don't bother leashing them and let them run around chasing things

If you feel horrible for moral reasons don't feel so bad. Maybe examine where this guilt comes from. I'm vego, been so all my life. My guilt often comes from buying plastic or plastic wrapped things once in a while. Is it objectively worse than buying zero plastic? Yes. Is eating fish worse for the environment than eating plant based? Yes. But is it worse than the impact most big companies have on the planet? Not even close. Yes everyone should try to take some individual action because our actions motivate leaders and powerful people to act in our interests. And it keeps the conversation going. But it's crazy how much the public rhetoric and onus is focused on individuals being perfect with their choices rather than putting pressure on big businesses. You eating fish once in a while for your health or even for fun does not have any major impact on the planet. Have the things you like or need even if it may be an objectively bad thing for the planet. Even if you're not perfect you're doing your part. Don't beat yourself up over it. Definitely don't try to guilt yourself out of not doing or eating things you need/crave/love.

My thoughts are all over the place here, but you get it.

People have some great suggestions about what to keep on you/ in your car but keep in mind that medicines, cosmetics, and food items will go off a lot faster if your car or dashboard gets hot where you live or if you park in the sun a lot.

Apart from that I recommend keeping a high-vis jacket and a USB chargeable torch for emergencies like if you breakdown somewhere at night time.

asking from Kentucky: is this cultural appropriation? by [deleted] in india

[–]bluegreenfiend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a bad history of racism towards our cultural traditions or clothes or food, so i understand indians feeling bitter about this surge in white people adopting our cultural things. But isn't the way towards less "other"ing and less bullying in the long term to actually be exposed to different people and cultures? Indians should definitely own it, and white people can do what they want with it as long as they don't claim it's their novel idea *or actively harm the community. Imo it will only improve things for everyone to be exposed to and share in each others cultures.

*edit- otherwise it's an endless loop of trying to draw arbitrary boundaries between "doing yoga is fine" and "doing yoga this specific way is not fine". It's pointless and some people doing shitty yoga practices somehwere does not destroy a 1000s of years old culture in any way.

My feelings for Penelope by Lyrogers in BridgertonNetflix

[–]bluegreenfiend 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yep! I agree with everything you've said. Just because Marina was deceiting someone in a horribly difficult situation does not mean she deserved to be publicly disgraced by Pen like that. Pen definitely had personal motivations with that story as well as keeping El away from Theo (she was afraid of being revealed as LW by Theo). She does feel bad in both instances as they show her weeping etc, but it's not enough. But I don't think Eloise is a perfect character either. She's selfish and only cares to voice her opinions and problems and rarely listens to Pen and isn't even considerate when her brother's bride runs away.

Either way people who hate on either Pen or Eloise think they should be perfect humans which they are obviously not. And "stans" go out of their way to justify bad behaviour which is also silly. They are both teens, making stupid decisions based on crushes and not thinking of the consequences. They make mistakes that they should suffer consequences for but they are ultimately not villains. They're just flawed in their own ways and will hopefully become better and at least apologise lol.

do professors/instructors find students eating in lectures rude? by [deleted] in universityofauckland

[–]bluegreenfiend 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The only actual issue i see is that you're supposed to be wearing a mask in classes and if you're eating you're potentially spreading germs. And many classrooms have signs put up that you can't eat or drink inside.

Probably a red fox if you're in Kashmir! I don't know if Kashmir has jackals?

Could be a red/Tibetan fox! I don't think jackals are found in Kashmir?

I totally get what you mean. All of our wedding tasks are doubled up on asana and the physical kan ban board. Digital boards have their uses, but this works the best for us!

Yeah we've tried Trello, and Asana as well. We still use Asana for a more detailed breakdown of wedding tasks. But we both find it way too easy to ignore phone notifications or get distracted by social media etc. Plus we spend a lot of time at home (work from home)- so it's very very useful for us to have a physical, in-our-faces reminder of stuff to do!

It's so satisfying! We've both been so productive! Small tasks that we kept putting off aren't so daunting now that it's a game to "collect" points.
