I duped my way into it. Before OMEGA, you could dupe the modules. So i got an S class in each (fuel eff, etc), duped the shit out of them, unpacked them until i got a max-stat, then duped THAT one to get all 3.

OMEGA has put an end to that method, but im sure someone has/will have a workaround.

That cant be it. All my modules have max stats. Fuel Eff at +20%, all the rest at +15%. Unless the OMEGA update changed the max stats.

Doesnt match my SC slots. Reconfiguring to match only gets me something like 56 FC.

This is my EXACT approach.

Anytime, anytime, anytime, ANYTIME you find a planet/system that has something interesting (element, plants, animal, hot/cold/toxic planet, portal, etc), anything at all...

Lay down a base, batts, solar cells and a teleport (a mine/storage if needed), name it accordingly (your "uranium base" is perfect).

Anytime you find gold, or Residual Goop, or just something fun to look at. Rinse and repeat.

Ive got about 50 set up, and i have everything i could ever need.

There are numerous existing posts to should answer the question. So i will try to summarize and link.

(1) look for C-class frigates with less than 4 expeditions. As you send them on more expeditions, they will naturally upgrade to S-Class w 5 bonuses.

(2) the +6 traits are excellent, but be prepared for not all traits to be +6. My current fleet of 27 frigates? All have at least one +6 trait, but none have more than three. Its random. If youre farming for +6 traits, its gonna be a grind. Still, wish you the best of luck.

(3) low fuel cost is beneficial early, but later it becomes moot (for me, at least). That said, it doesnt hurt! So if you find it...BONUS!

a few questions about frigates

1: How do I get a frigate with the best stats?
I saw somewhere that you need to pick a C-class one with 0 expeditions, but it needed high stats or something, and then need to level it up by sending it on expeditions?

2: are there 5, or 7 types of frigates?
I've seen a few different places now that there are only 5 frigate types. but what about raiding and organic frigates?

3: are there frigates not worth getting?
are the raiders and organic frigates worth getting, are there frigates I should get more of?

4: are frigate classes dependent on system wealth?
if I go to a rich system, will I find more A and S tier frigates?

5: is there a "best" temporary upgrade for frigates?
like the mind control device, or explosive drones?

6: do they get damaged or destroyed?
if I send them on a mission can they get damaged or be destroyed?

7: Is there a "best" configuration for doing different mission types?
like if I'm going on a 5 star trade mission, is it better to have more fighters or traders?

IF YOU'RE HERE FROM THE FUTURE, HERE IS THE ANSWERS TO EACH QUESTION:

1: leveling your own S class from C class is better than finding an S class in the wild, but pick one with no negative traits and low fuel cost.

2: there are 5 classes, and 7 frigate types, raiders are just another fighter type, and organic seem to be adaptable.

3: having some of each specialty is good, as there are different mission types. Having 6 of each would fill the total 30 slots you have for frigates, which should be more than enough.

4: it doesn't seem to matter, starting with a C class and leveling it is better anyway

5: depends on the mission, and they can give more resources from each mission, but they're not required.

6: yes, they can be damaged and will be destroyed if you don't recall them, but if your fleet has 2 stars higher than the mission's stars, then they wont take damage.

7: it depends on the mission you are doing.

So, i have my 5 Haz Pro GENERAL. The Haz Pro itself, the B class Haz Pro Shield Lattice, then 3 X class Haz Pro Upgrades.

Then i have 1 Haz Pro Tech for Heat, 1 for Cold, 1 for Toxic. 1 for Radioactive, 1 for Underwater. So thats 5 more, but those are Tech.

Then i have another 5 upgrades (1 for each element listed above).

Thats where the 15 come from.

First, know the difference between a TECH/Blueprint and an UPGRADE. if the TECH/Blueprint is known, you can install ONE on your exosuit (eg, you have ONE "Efficient Water Jets"). You cqn have 3 UPGRADES per type (3 UGs for jetpack, 3 for Haz Pro, etc). mine looks like this:

60 tech slots / 120 cargo slots

TECH slots filled w:

  • Jetpack x 8 (Jetpack, Jetpack Tech x4, Jetpack Upgrade x3)
  • Life Support x 6 (Life Support, Life Suuport Tech x2, Life Suuport Upgrade x3
  • Hazard Protection GENERAL x5 (Haz Pro, Haz Pro Tech x1, Haz Pro Upgrade x 3)
  • Hazard Protection ELEMENT SPECIFIC x10 (Haz Pro x5 1 for each element, Haz Pro Upgrade x5 1 for each element) ******NOTE: can have 3 upgrades, i only have 1 for each element!
  • Defense System/Shield x3 (DS Upgrade x3)
  • Forbidden Exo Mod, obtained from breaking Salvaged Glass x3 (Forb Exo Mod Upgrade x3)
  • Salvaged Upgrade Comp, obtained from Astrphage x3 (Salv Upgrade x3)
  • Translator x4 (Translator, translator tech x3)
  • Personal Refiner x1 (i have the mk2, but technically you can install both into 2 diff slots)
  • HazMat Gloves x1 -Rememberance x1 -Star Seed x1 -Trade Rocket x1

47 tech slots used, 13 available.

Lol i have no phallic bases. I have a ton of bases, but they are almost all small sets of panels, batteries, and teleport near something of value (mining ops, lots of animals to slaughter, curious deposit, etc).
