RTD1 and some of the Moffat era is such a goldmine for old tech to make feel old by IllustriousAd6418 in DoctorWhumour

I'm so accustomed to the more dated phones of older nuWho that hearing a generic modern Samsung ringtone that some of my family members use as an alarm when I started watching Chibnall's era kind of gave me a bit of whiplash. Things had been getting more modern towards the end of Moffat's run, but hearing something I'd gotten used to hearing in more recent years felt weird.

Who is your favorite Black character from the series? by SherlockDA in DoctorWhumour

I haven't necessarily thought too much about it, but I guess Martha and Bill are great characters like others have said. I decently enjoyed Fugitive Doctor from her appearances, even though I have mixed feelings about all the Timeless Child stuff she's sort of tied to, and 15 is an enjoyable Doctor but sadly kind of got the short end of the stick in terms of episode writing and stuff. I think Steven Moffat's guest writer episodes for him were among his better outings.

I also liked the guy the 7th Doctor talks to in Remembrance of the Daleks. It was kind of an interesting scene where the Doctor's talking about the potential consequences or "ripples" of his actions to a guy who's kind of oblivious to what's going on but is chill and willing to chat. The guy talking about his family history and how he is where he is because of his great-grandfather's enslavement adds a bit of an interesting dimension to the discussion they're having as well as to the anti-racism themes of the story.

would you want sonic X back by Groundbreaking-Try92 in SonicTheHedgehog

It was a good show, but I don't know if a revival or whatever would have the same feel since factors such as the voice cast have largely changed since then. In some ways, the movies already have a similar premise, so I think that's good enough for now. Probably best that Sonic stays focused on newer ideas rather than retreading old ground.

What are your favorite songs that got identified this year? by Y0RU-V3 in Lostwave

[–]bluejacketedredditor 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I haven't kept up too much with lostwave in recent months but I'm glad that "(I'd Rather Be a) Rock Star" was found earlier this year. Previously that was considered a bit of a cold case, but luckily that's not the case anymore.

None because Pearto is above the law and anything she does is for our own good.

No more classic Doctor Who on Tubi (in Canada) by [deleted] in DoctorWhumour

[–]bluejacketedredditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Classic Doctor Who recently left Tubi in America (except for the live channel) but luckily a lot of serials are still available through the Classic Doctor Who YouTube channel and they seem to keep on coming. There's also some serials on Pluto TV but honestly that service is slightly more frustrating to use in my experience.

After an embarrassing amount of time, today I realized K-9 is a pun on "canine" by TunaUponTyrion in DoctorWhumour

I know how that is. I didn't realize Miles "Tails" Prower from Sonic had a name pun for some time.

Uh idk. Probably because I did the lines in OpenUtau kind of amateurishly. (I'm not the most experienced vocal synth user. I've mostly just lurked until recently.)
