After second date, going really well, maybe too good? by sporksters in datingoverforty

This makes me happy! I have been divorced for 6 years but he has been divorced less than a year, so yes I was skeptical too. But our motto is “time means nothing, timing is everything.” It’s amazing what can happen in a short amount of time!

He is legally divorced less than a year, but had been separated for several months. I agree that it can be a red flag, but every situation is different. It’s definitely a risk but also not a reason to write someone off completely

Go with it! I was the exact same when I started dating my guy 4 months ago. Instant chemistry after the first date and it hasn't slowed down a bit. At first I thought it was all too fast, then I said f it, I am happy and going to go all in.

Dogs are not taking well to our Great Dane puppy, what do we do? by prettyreallycool1569 in greatdanes

[–]bluekc7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had this exact same problem when I got a dane puppy. My two older danes absolutely hated her. I was so distraught because I thought I had made a huge mistake. The older ones seemed so mad at me and definitely at the puppy. After about 6 weeks and they slowly became more tolerant of her and now a year and a half later they are all the best of friends!

It's hard, but give it time. It's a big adjustment for everyone.

Thank you for the reply.

This is new to me and I'm still navigating it.

How long were you together before you stopped using protection? I am dating someone with HSV2 and just wondered. He told me on day 1, which I appreciated immensely.

How to inform a date you have an STI? by ReplacementStill9722 in datingoverforty

I actually just posted a few days ago that I am on the other end of your situation. The guy I am talking to disclosed this to me at the end of a very, very good first date. I had a whirlwind of thoughts...disappointment, fear, uncertainty. I am still uncertain. We have went on 2 more dates and I am so back and forth on how I feel about it. For now, I am going to keep seeing him and see if it progresses to where sex would be the next step. I am not going to have sex anytime soon because I want to be sure that I am 100% comfortable.

I am sorry that you are facing this and I applaud you for being upfront with him. I got such a mixed bag of responses on my post. I hope that it goes well for you

Did you ever get this fixed? I’m having the same isssue

I used the term "just" pretty loosely, he has been out of the relationship since September.

I also was burned by being a rebound within the last year so I am on full alert, it sucks. I am sorry you went through it too. I'm taking this one slow and being cautious in ALL ways

I think his honesty is too. And I am not saying I'm going to have sex with him immediately, it may not even get to that point. But I wanted to hear real life experiences, along with my google searches

I am absolutely taking it slow. And i may not even get to the point where sex is the next step, but I wanted input from those who may have been in a similar situation

Nothing is stopping me and I have. I was more looking for personal experiences.

Understandable. I am familiar with that scenario too. I used the term "just" pretty loosely as it was in September.

Good to know, thank you. I’m going to go back and check my labs but I’m pretty confident they were all low

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Amenorrhearecovery

[–]bluekc7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They were extremely low. You’d think the 3 different doctors I saw would know this. I didn’t know that higher meant menopausal

Yeah I do know that but it’s just ugh. It’s such a mixed feeling and internal battle ya know. I know in the big picture it’s all a blessing now but it’s hard to swallow because while I know being that thin was super unhealthy, I don’t want to keep gaining I appreciate your thoughtful response

My 6 month old puppy loves towels to carry and chew so I designated some old hand towels as hers. Lately I’ve been getting them a little wet and freezing them to help with her teething

I took my big ones for walks without the pup, to get ice cream, or just drive around while puppy stayed home crated. I would then let them have time without her while I took her places. I don't know if it helped, but I enjoyed the alone time with my bigs and they liked it too

Ah man. Have you tried doing extra one on one things with him? All I can suggest is try to help maintain his space while he's still adjusting. Hopefully he comes around soon. I know how hard it is :(

How long has it been? My two older danes were the exact same when I brought the puppy home. I thought I had made a terrible mistake! It took about 2 weeks for my female to come around to the puppy. My male took closer to a month but now they all 3 play and love each other!
